Water Pump / City Water
I've always thought of the water pump switch as something that is only used when city water is not hooked up and I need water pressure to move water from the on-board tank through the system.
Yesterday, while hooked up to city water, I noticed the pressure was a bit low. Not knowing for sure how things are plumbed on our coach, I turned the pump switch on to see what effect, if any, it would have. It really boosted the flow. So my question is what it pumping water out of our tank and augmenting the city water flow? Or was it somehow "helping" the city water pressure?
Sounds silly, I know, but no question is too silly, right?

There are no silly question's..........non at all.....
Most all have a check valve in the city water plumbing, thus if the city water pressure is lower than the output pressure of your water pump, when the pump is turned on and running, the check valve will close and the water will come from your water tank.
The water with the higher pressure will be used.......
On the other side, when on city water and your pump is switched on, your water pump will not run till the city water pressure drops below the pressure setting of your water pump.

Actually tried turning on the pump while on city water with ours a couple of outings ago....
and it really helped the water pressure as I thought it was just 'pushing' the city water more...
BUT, when my fresh water tank emptied while doing that, I knew it was just supplementing the city water with the 'fresh tank' water....
