I have the M9900 and would like to replace it with something more driver friendly and have the capability to play DVD's. I have an 05 HR 36PDQ Neptune and updated the tube TV with an LCD up front and the Stereo is next. I did a search and found people are happy with the M1-LCD and a few other brands but most of the threads are outdated. What are the most recent finds and were are the best deals to be found.

Thanks for you help
Randy

Randy;

I bought the Magnadyne M1-LCD with the Navigation module and iPod connection about a year ago. The upside is that the rear connections from the 9900 fit exactly. It is a really good radio for Sirius, FM, AM, etc. It is a decent Nav unit. The Nav unit has an interesting feature that tells you when you are exceeding the speed limit. Over and over! It can be disabled.

You can also add camera connections to the M1-LCD if you want. The radio has very serious capabilities and I haven't touched on hardly any of them.

The down-side is that the 9900 is a 1 1/2 din and the M1-LCD is a 2 din. You will have to modify the hole in your dash. Admittedly, it is almost impossible to find a decent 1 1/2 DIN Nav radio.

I've been pretty happy with the M1-LCD. The screen is not readable when the sun hits it, but then none really are!

I also use a late model Garmin Nav unit when we travel. Seems redundant, but the Garmin has features that the Magnadyne doesn't, one of which is voice commands.

I know I didn't help, really, but wanted to let you know my experience so far with the Magnadyne.

Bud

Thank you, I am considering the M1-LCD but there are quite a few choices for the 2-din. I was reading quite a few positive reviews on the M1-lcd. What I have now is the 9900 so anything would be an improvement!!!

Gutter Man......I replaced my radio the first year I had the coach. I went with a Pioneer AM/FM/XM/DVD Navigation unit. I really like it. It plays the navigation directions through the radio speakers. It also has a small steering wheel mounted remote control for volume and function control. You can push the remote and it will repeat the most current navigation info. That really helps when you get old and forget what it said. Mine is the Avic D-1, there are much newer versions.
