Since I've learned that our 2 "issues" might not be repaired at the Monaco or FMCA Rallies, I'm curious what repairs you 'more experienced' Monaco owners have had successfully completed at a Rally?

Other than the dash AC blowing hot air when the engine gets 125+ and the surround sound speaker buzzing noise, we don't have any other issues -- that we know of!

Let's see now, ... In the last two years.
<UL TYPE=SQUARE>Marker lamps (side, top rear) replaced,
Transfer switch replaced,
Thermal breaker for charging, replaced ( required diagnostics).
Steps adjusted
Awning arm replaced[/list]All of these are mostly nuisance items, and easily repaired while in the field of the rally.

PS, Some smooth talking can get you an additional (undocumented) item, if simple. I did find out that safety items (like non-functioning wipers) become priority.

Believe it or not, we had a roof-top A/C replaced at the Salem rally! We also had a light fixture replaced by them at the rally.

The service guys for Monaco are the best. Salt of the earth kind of people. We have had great experience with them at the rallys and at the Wildwood facility.

You could always put the dash AC unit on your list. All they could do is say no.

Mick...
Put EVERYTHING on your list...big to small...they do work on "safety items" as a priority...and those items are fixed first. If things are slow-then your items may get repaired...but it is nice to have anything fixed without the hassle of going to the "Service Center". I would definitely list the stereo buzz-if they already have a "known fix" then maybe it will now be an "in & out" repair!

Good luck!!

If we don't get these last 2 issues resolved they will be at the top of the Rally Repair List and we can hope they will.

We were talking tonight trying to come up with things to get fixed at the rally and Rick reminded me how loud the water pump is when we use it. He said last weekend someone was walking by the MH when I happened to use it and it scared them so bad, they jumped! One of those things not really broke, but is it supposed to be that way? (It sounds like a bear trying to tear off the slide!)

Happy that our list of pending 'issues' is getting short...

Happy that your list is teeny-tiny!! Ok... start checking everything... all interior lighs working ok? All hinges ok? All doors and cabinets closing properly? Slides working properly? Outside doors ok?

Just look around from now until th rally and add to your list as you find things!

PS... Did you make it to Sedona area?

Double PS... I just noticed that your weather gives your time zone and mine will give you the West coast time!

We didn't make it to Sedona, both in-laws had medical procedures that kept us at home doing meals-on-wheels. But gladly so.

We will start looking at things we've accepted, but at the time questioned "Is that how it's supposed to be?" Can't think of anything right now, but we have about 60 days to find something wrong.

I guess if they can't fix the dash AC or the speaker buzz at the rally, asking them to replace the big bulky TV (because it's bulky) probably wouldn't go over well either.

We've had a Safari since '96, sold it with 100,000 miles on a 300 cat. Very minor problems that were taken care of at rally's. Safari, now Monaco does their best to take care of problems at the rally's (if they can)

Purchased a 2008 La Palma XL at the Salem rally six weeks ago. Love it except while in Okla. two weeks ago, one of the slide out cables on the front slide broke. Coach is in RV America in Denver waiting on a new cable (there are 4)
Will let you know how this turns out when completed. Having known RV Amer. since '96, I don't expect any problems.

I have a 07 Camelot, & the bedroom slide is cable driven -- The top outside cable broke -- I had my dealer send me one & I replaced it myself, not an easy task, but no one here (AZ.) knew how to fix it -- Someone on this forum told me of a web site on the workings of this slide -- The web site has a video -- I now carry a spare cable -- It`s a lot easier to repair if you replace the cable when it starts fray in place of waiting till it breaks -- The system uses 8 cables, not 4 -- 4 pulls the slide in & 4 pulls the slide out -- Bill Willard

How/where do you check them?

This is a web site that will be of great use to anyone that has the cable driven slides -- Have your speakers on because there is a video -- Hope I get this right -- norcoind.com/bal/products/oem/accuslide/index.shtml --- Bill Willard

I traveled this last summer for almost three months with my cable slide stuck closed because of a broken cable. Two authorised service centers spent many hours attempting the repair. I had the new cable, but no one seemed to have what they needed to make it right again. Upon my return, my dealer had it fixed in just a couple of hours as they had already repair a couple (or more).

Thanks to your link, I now have all of the literature (including video's) in a folder in my laptop computer. Thanks to your post I won't travel without the info again.
