I'm looking at a 2008 Monaco Knight 38PDQ with the 8 bag suspension. I'm hoping for the remaining warranty on the Cummins and Allison, but none on the Roadmaster. If you have problems, will the "new" Roadmaster service the chassis for $$? What would you have checked that is particular to the Monaco? Any issues that I should be aware of? It's a nice looking unit with 14K miles, but I'm Leary of "orphans". Is Monaco more of a partial orphan as you can still get technical advice?
In general, would you be afraid of this brand or just extra careful checking it out? Thanks for any input!

You have nothing to fear...Monaco RV is giving all the support you need...they did stiff people like myself on a warranty, but the component manufacturers did stand behind them. If you like the coach, go for it.

You should do the normal checks, test drive and so on that you'd do on any coach.

Also get the coach number (last 6 digits of what Monaco calls the "Unit Serial Number") and call Monaco Tech support. They should be able to email you the "data card" which shows the components of the coach, with model and serial numbers. They also may be able to send you a PDF of the original window sticker. If you've seen any items on the coach that are questionable, or just plain not working, they may also explain what needs to be done to repair.
