Picked up the coach yesterday from the repair shop. Had some minor body work and a TV problen fixed. It probably hadn't been started for several days but was kept plugged in to electric. Coach was brought up front and left running. Took off, drove about six miles and stopped for gas. Turned off coach. When I went to restart . . . nothing! The gauges all work but no sound when I turned the key over. Dead silence. Called mobile repair and they got coach started by doing something under the engine. They were looking for a 12V source. Probably should have asked them what they did?? Repairman said the starter and solenoid were fine, batteries okay. He suspected the problem was in the fuse compartment under driver's seat. Drove back to repair shop. left coach running. They checked out everything in fuse compartment. Didn't find anything wrong. Turned off coach and started it several times. Everything normal. Drove to campground. Turned off coach and restarted twice. No problem.

Any ideas of what's going on would be appreciated. Thanks and have a Happy 4th.

Temperamental ignition switch?

Don't you just hate those intermittent electrical problems? You're always waiting for it to jump out and bite you again, usually 1,000 miles from anywhere.

I think I would call that repairman and ask him how he started the coach. If the batteries checked out ok, the solenoid ok and starter ok it should have started. Now if he told you there was a fuse problem, then he either had to fix the fuse problem by bypassing something. Is it possible he used the starting switch in the engine compartment? If so, then maybe it is the ignition switch in the cockpit but even then that switch would have to be in a certain position for the engine compartment switch to work. Just doesn't make sense yet. Call them back and ask for the tech that got you going.
