Whistling Entry Door

I have a 2006 Monaco Knight which recently at high speeds 60+ is making a horrible whistling noise coming from the door. Any solutions to this problem?

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

It sounds like the rubber seals around the door need replacement! Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

The door may need adjustment or the weep hole covers may be missing from the window frame. New weep hole covers solved our whistle.

Welcome to the forum. You have found an incredible source of information.

Those weep hole covers do like to leave the area. I long ago abandoned them and cover the holes with this tape.

I do NOT push the tape into the tiny channel on my window frames. This leaves a very small area for any moisture to get out. The tape last for a few years.

My door hinges howled too so I covered them with it. Chasing door rattles and wind noises is an art form it seems.

Check the front arm on your door awning its suposed to have long piece of foam in it ( or at least the early door awnings did )to keep it from whistling and they some time fall out. You could probaly try using a foam pipe cover in the channel to stop the whistle if your insert did fall out.

Check the bottom of the door for a gap. That was the cause of the whistling in my door. Stuck some adhesive insulation to the underside of the door and whistling stopped.

Dorothea,

We have a 2006 Camelot that had the same whistling door issue a few years back.

We were on the road and I just couldn't stand the noise so I stopped by a Home Depot and bought some 3/4" wide x 7/16" thick heavy duty weather strip and carefully applied it to the screen door where it contacts the door frame. The weather strip was the self stick type and was applied all the way around the screen door. (Top, bottom, and both sides) It may have required two rolls, just can't remember back that far. This was thought to be a temporary fix, but it solved the whistling noise and I actually forgot it was there until your recent post reminded me.

I believe that this is the product that I used to stop the door whistle issue
