Who has towed a 24 enclosed trailer and car
Planning a trip from North GA. to Carlisle PN. This summer with our 1969 383S Plymouth Barracuda in our 24’ V-Nose enclosed trailer.
We bought this 2008 HR 40PDQ with 10k tow rating with these type trips in mind.
After our first trip in the coach that went not so well we now have 6 new tires and some practical experience, it seemed the power train is up to it. Anyone care to share some words of wisdom?

I pulled a 28 ft Race Car trailer with a 3000 lb 57 Chevy all over the East coast with a 275 Cummins in a 34 ft Horizon. You will have little problems. Happy trails.

I tow a 24' enclosed trailer, with big old Cadillac in it, behind my 38' Diplomat. I've towed clear across the country, mountains out west you have to be careful, but GA to PA should be much problem.
My advise, watch out for sharp turns / backing up with your trailer, it's easy to have the corner of your trailer hit the back of your bus.....
When I purchased my enclosed trailer I was told not to buy a V nose one, as the nose would hit the ladder on the back of the bus. I went with a flat front, I've never hit the ladder, but the back of the bus, that's another story.

Coach w/trailer
When we are not flat towing our F150, we pull a 24' enclosed H&H trailer with our car and Street Glide in it. Bumper to bumper we are approximately 70 ft long. Our coach...a 41' Dynasty with a tag axle handles the trailer nicely. It really trails nice!!
You have to take wider swings on sharp corners, and you just don't fit in every camp site. Those are the only two downsides. On a positive note...everything gets there clean and dry😎
I'm sure you'll be fine...enjoy your trip

Who has towed a 24 enclosed trailer and car
Tow a 20 (25overall ) enclosed trailer ( flat front) for the past 2 1/2 years 2 circle trips around the country. All the items already mentioned apply. The 5 tongue makes it easy any less than that down to 4 minimum is ok if you pay attention.
Research rv parks carefully , I ask , then google earth view them. Several will say no problem plenty of room then be surprised when you show up. It happened a couple times then I started pre screening and No problem afterwards.
Pre plan your trips a little more carefully. We generally travel UShighways with no issues But we like the slower pace and in most cases better roads than the freeways

Thanks all
I would have thought the V-Nose would give me more turning room than a flat nose.
Hauled this with the Ram Dually all over the southeast but need to branch out.

Going to the fairgrounds there and they are supposed to have RV/Trailer parking, so hope it will not be much of an issue. Plan on overnighting at rest areas or truck stops on the way and back.

IMO You need a 5ft tongue measured from the box to the ball.
ps: Nice hot rod

Thanks.
Would have to measure, but that seems about what I have on the tongue.

I tow a 24 ft race car trailer with 34 ft Endeavor 64ft overall. The tailswing on the motorhome makes it easy to maneuver even tight turns in residential areas.
I have to make a sharp 90 to get on my street and then back the rig straight a block then into my driveway because im the last house on dead end. I watched CDL college videos online on backing and it really helped even though ive backed trailers all my life but not with a rig this big.
Small steering movement backing makes a large change.
Heres one on straight line backing theres also others on offset backing and parallel parking. Even tho I’ll probably never parallel park the techniques are good to know.
Look out for the trailer tailswing also. Practice makes perfect its easy once you get the hang of it.

We have towed a 28' and now a 34' enclosed trailer with our each of motor homes. I actually tried to tow the 34' trailer with the little C8.3 powered Windsor, but just not enough torque. The ISX does much better.
The problem areas are when someone parks directly in front of you and also when you get to the PA fairgrounds and have to park your coach and trailer. We carry a set of walkie talkies and my wife guides me back.
I assume you have an ISL? It will tow fine, especially on the east coast. You will love the motor home. It becomes a home away from home.
Make sure you have a good weight distributing hitch and all the trailer tires are within 7 years of the date code.
