GoneFishin arrived at the FMCA rally in Pomona with the Monaco caravan this morning and was that an experience! We were #5 of 115 and it was fun because we were at the front. I don't know that being at the rear would have been fun. All 115 of us left Lancaster at once and it was quite amazing to see the miles of Monacos behind us. When we exited the freeway only the first 4 coaches made it through the light AND THEN I WAS THE LEADER! The first 4 left us behind and they were out of sight and as I was waiting for the light to change I said to Rick "What a feeling. I could guide the caravan anywhere!" and then the light changed and we caught up to the leaders. Luckily, we grew up in this area and I knew my way around. I called my Mom before we went through her city and she was able to get to a place to view the caravan on the freeway as we passed by. I saw my sister this afternoon and she said she was driving on the freeway and got caught up in the caravan at the offramp. Rick said I was the only one who thought it was an amazing experience. I think he thought it was pretty cool, but I kept saying "WOW!" (I may have some pix on the camera to share later.)

Anyway, we are parked in Lot 0-4, First Street, near the parking lot sign D20. We don't have a space number, but look for the iRV2 logo in the front window and the red Honda CR-V.

Who else is here? We would love to meet anyone from iRV2 who is here because we have found everyone we meet from iRV2 to be the most friendly and fun-loving people at the rallies. Drifer? InflatableBoats4Less? Anyone?

Were coming in on Sunday, if the weather lets us. Were supposed to be in a space with power. Where that will be I don't know. Look for us and we will do the same. Were new to this type of event so anything can and will happen.

We were able to park and then unhitch the toad. Parking was really simple. You'll be fine if you watch the guys parking you and follow their instructions.

Mic... I don't care what Rick said...You are NOT the only one who would have thought "it was an amazing experience. I think he thought it was pretty cool, but I kept saying "WOW"! " yup.. your "Mama" would have been running back and forth - sticking her head out each window like a dog barking at big rigs passing by.. BUT I would have been sticking the camera out - instead of my tongue!

I see that you might find others answering who is there at this thread..so check out to see if others from iRV2 might be there...

Glad the trip was fun ... wishin' I was there...

talk to you soon!!

Although the rally hasn't officially started yet, it got a whole lot more fun this afternoon when we met up with Drifter and caught up with what's been happening since QZ. The rain is supposed to stop tomorrow and hopefully we will be able to meet more of the friendly folks from iRV2 who are here in <STRIKE>sunny</STRIKE> rainy Southern California. This place is soooo big and spread out you have to get in your car and drive down the street to the next section. Or take the open air trams. Keep your fingers crossed for

Glad to hear about your caravan experience. Were you all talking on the CB..? That would be a lot of chatter.
When in Pomona we stay at East Shore RV Park just 5 Minutes from Gate 17 on the hilltop overlooking Puddingston Lake in Bonnelli Park. Big rig friendly and incredible views in all directions. This is a real find and I suggest everyone check it out for future shows at the Fairplex. There are a lot of them planned.

We enjoy the small villages nearby. Both La Verne and Claremont have a small town feel with pleasant streets to stroll and nice shops and restaurants and are aces sable by surface streets. La Verne is just next door around the end of the dragstrip and airstrip while Claremont(my favorite) is just 10 minutes east down Bonita Ave.

Crystal and I will have The Shady Boat Dealer booths right next to the refreshment stand in BLDG 4. Stop by with the magic word IRV2 for a genuine hug from the lovely Crystal.

After settling in here at the rally we received a visit from Gonefishing. How they found us I'll never know, it was so great see them again, great people, we had a nice visit.
Today we went and looked at the 2009 Dynasty Yorkshire IV. OH MY!!!! Later I went for walk and saw a guy with a IRV2 teeshirt and I had to ask, it was WTHOMAS1 another great couple. It just proves that IRV2 people are great.
