Wind Sensor Protection

Hi all, We have a 98' Beaver with a Girard awning and anemometer (wind sensor). I recently had to drive under some low hanging limbs on a public street and broke the wind sensor. I just ordered a new one from Girard @ $145.

I remember seeing a home made remedy (on this forum I think) that looked like a little roll cage. Does any of you remember seeing this or know of another way to protect the sensor in the future?

Thanks, Mike Kauffman, Issaquah, WA

I have seen plastic baskets upside down and wire light bulb protectors. If whatever you use cuts the wind flow too much be sure to reset the wind speed sensor. Two Girards...over 200k miles only one anenometer, may be your event is out of the way now.
