Hi all,
It is going to get to 16' tomorrow night they predict.
I use my 99 beaver 36' montery as a guest house.
Do I need to winterize? Will my gas heater keep
the tanks warm enough?

I put a remote thermometer in the basement.
It is reading 68'. I have a little electric cube ceramic
heater in the basement too.
Kill-a-watt ez says that the little heater uses 568watts on high so its not very powerful.
The current outside temp is 25'...
I dumped the grey and black tanks a few days ago and noticed that the dump valves are inside the sealed compartment... That was a comfort as I was worried that they might hang down and freeze...
The slideout is in... less space to heat.
I bought a edenpur style infared heater to save on propane. It is rated 1500watts but uses only 1368watts. The second lifesmart infared heater is set on low and uses 758watts... I am on shore power. My water tank is at 1/4 and the black has about 2 gallons...
It is too cold to go inside to pee in the middle of the night if I can avoid it...

I bought Reflectix and cut it to fit 1 inch larger than my windows. At night I slide it between the windows and the shades. REALLY, keeps the interior warmer. I also bought Camco vent pillows to seal off the roof vents.

I went to hobby Lobby and bought a 4" chair foam pad that was a perfect fit for the
skylight... cut another one up for the 2 fans... made a big difference...
That Reflectix sounds great... I will try to get some... thanks...

Well it got down to 17' last night. at sunrise it was 68' inside and the gas furnace which was set for 65 never ran last nite.!!! basement was 62'..
I did three things. Ran the slide in so I had less space to heat.
moved the bathroom lifesmart closer to the bed room... ie straight shot...
Last I found that the day/nite shades in the bedroom had a foam seal all around.
I thought it was to prevent noise... Living room has blinds and they clang alot.
I noticed that the knobs were hitting the trim and not going down all the way...
I pushed the knobs past the trim and all the way down against the foam...
Huge difference... it reduced the cold air coming in to almost nothing....
I ran the cat for an hour. this charged the batteries and reset the charge
cycle on the freedom inverter.... my remote pannel never when below 12v...
It had been down to 11.5 when it was only 25' out....
Best of all it was very comfortable moist heat... 68' felt like 72'
It is currently 30' out. The bedroom is 75' and the heater just kicked off...
I had tried 2 cheap $20 electric element heaters last year and the furnace
still ran about 1x per hour... This is soooo much better...
