Wipers - Intermittent??

Are the wipers on a Diplomat supposed to work intermittently? I seem to get them to occasionally. The problem is probably the intermittent nut behind the wheel

If they are designed to do this what's the procedure to get them to slow down?

I can't speak for you rig, but this is how mine operates.

If you push the wipe once button (it will cause the windshield wiper to cycle once). The next time you push it (let's say in 30 seconds), it then sets the intermittent cycle to wipe once every 30 seconds. Pretty cool if you ask me.

That's what the manual says too, but mine don't always seem to do it?
