Can anyone help me getting a wiring diagram for the Chassis, 2008 Holiday Rambler, Ambassador, 38 PDQ, 360 ISC Cummins? I have a Dash air conditioning problem, have enough refrigerant, checked both controls in front, front fuse OK, getting no power to engauge clutch on engine?

Wiscjc -

I have a 2008 Camelot. Dash air is dead. Symptoms were that the compressor clutch was not engaging.

Last week, I tackled it with wiring schematic in hand.

I first put the guages on the refrigerate lines and determined that the system had a good charge (no apparent leaks). I then started checking the circuits and determined that the solinoid for the compressor clutch was not getting any voltage on the input side. Tracing this back on the circuit diagram it appeared that the problem had to lie with the Trinary Switch or the thermostat. The Trinary Switch voltage checked out fine, but the thermostat was dead. I wired across it temporatily and that fixed the problem so far as the compressor clutch was concerned. That puppy engaged and the compressor started pumping.

Still the cooling was very poor. So I put the guages back on and found that I had 250# on the high pressure side (which I think is about right) but I was actually pulling a vacume on the low pressure side.

This indicated to me that I probably have a plugged expansion valve, most likely due to a busted dryer putting junk into the line. If that is the case, the system will need to be purged and the valve replaced along with the dryer and, of course, the thermostat is still toast.

So that's my work list for the coming week, but since I don't have the skill for those tasks or the gear to evacuate the freon, I'm going to have to take it to the shop.

Good hunting and let us know what you find out on your situation.

Dan, sounds like the drier could be plugged, and not the TXV valve? Either way the unit has to be taken apart by a tech...On my Ambassador the fuse was blown in the lower electrical compartment, found a stuck condenser fan...hooked it up with jumper cables and ran it for 15 minutes, replaced the fuse again and all is OK....Again Thanks Dennis for the wiring diagram...
