Haven't seen a much out there on this model. Can anyone shed any light on these 34-foot full wall slide units?

Currently have an '03 Bounder 32W, thinking we would like the space addition of the full wall slide better, along with the 22K GVW chassis.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi gr8fultim,

I have a 40' Diplomat with a full wall slide, but it looks like the ones you are inquireing about come on Monaco Monarchs and HR Admirals. The floorplans look nice. Perhaps someone with one of those models will chime in and give you some information on them.

We recently purchased a 2008 Monarch 30SFS. I don't know how much help I could be as a new owner, but...

Hi Robin,

We have not used it yet. I drove it home about two weeks ago and didn't crash it so that was a very good trip. Since then I have been reading manuals, looking in the corners, reading manuals, trying the various systems out, reading manuals, adding a few things to ready it for use, reading manuals, etc. We are going to Provence for a month or so and will not get to use it until late spring or early summer. We had a Bounder the first year they came out, (back in the 1980's I think), and so far I think we will like the sfs floor plan very much. As many rainy days as we have up here, it will become small much less quickly than without the slide. And of course, since our Bounder days there have been many advancements in motor homes in general.

we have an 07 Admiral 33 full wall slide. love the floor plan, especially the openness all the way to the back. it makes an awful sound when putting in or out and we have to have it adjusted. Monaco has been great with their customer service.

Thanks for all the info. How bad is it when the slide is in? Are you able to get to the back OK with luggage, etc - get in/out of the bathroom, etc?

TIA -

Greetings gr8fultim,
We have a 40SFD with a roadside fullwall slide. Ours has an "island" bathroom wall separating the bathroom from the hallway. You can get to the bathroom from the livingroom, and then you can go through it to the bedroom with the fullwall slide "in". We havn't had any problems getting around the MH with it in. Our wardrobe closet is in the slide so we have to make sure that any jackets that we may need is out of it before we travel. Heck, our jackets usually hang on the driver and passenger chairs anyway.
Good luck,

AKBrick

We can access the bath (albeit via squeezing as the door will not fully open) and we can access the bedroom straight away with very little squeezing. From reading other's posts, our slide / configuration leaves a bit more access space to the bedroom than some. Most of the storage areas in the slide are not accessible (at least in a practical manner). We are both at about 150 lbs. I don't think at 200+ lbs, a person would find the back as accessible. I don't think we could manage getting much luggage past the dining area unless it was carry on size (airline carry on)or soft sided duffel-type bags. There is plenty of room to use the other areas in front of the bath with the slide in.
