You know what I want?

Isn't it nice when you see a Prevost or a Marathon and you see those awnings that run the entire length of the roof? In fact they look like they're mounted on the roof. I call them gunny rails. I don't know why. Just a dumb name I came up with a few years ago. Does anyone know what those awnings are actually called? Who manufacturers them? And could I pay to have them installed on my Dynasty????

Most Provosts I've seen have a box style awning that uses lateral arms so no tracks or struts extend down the side of the RV. I'm sure you could pay to have them installed, you could also get pontoons added so you could float the RV if you're willing to pay for it!

The prices I've seen for Carefree Mirage Box Awnings is over $4,000 and up.

Bob that's awesome lol! The pontoon comment!

I've already got carefree boxes over the door and one living room slide. Both w lateral arms and remotes. I am just dying to know what those are on top of Prevost style high line coaches.

Carefree Mirage Patio Awning
They are Girard awnings, you can get them on Newmar Dutch Stars and up, might even go down a few lines too. On some of the higher end rigs you can get them on the entire drivers side too.
Not sure about the locking mechanism though. On a normal awning that would put the lock on the back end of the awning. I was once called as an expert witness on a wrongful death suit over just that. Awning mounted on drivers side of TT, it unfurled into oncoming traffic and killed an oncoming MH driver.

They are Girard Awnings. I have them full length on my Navigator on the passenger side built into a rail. I have seen them mounted like a "pontoon" on many other coaches. Girard would be able to mount them any way you wanted.
