Just a stupid question, since the price of fuel is increasing faster than a speeding bullet, what changes in your trips are you expecting? I think I will just add a few extra days so the cost per day will less.

Still planning a 5 week trip to Washington and Oregon this July and August. But we will be missing a few HRRVC rally's this summer. We'll spent our kids inheritance for the "big" trip. There will be a few days spent at a lake cabin 45 miles away instead of the rally's.

With the speculators/OPEC manipulating the price of oil vs. the law of supply and demand, we'll be waiting for this bubble to burst. Then hopefully our retirement funds will build back up as the markets stablize.

Hi abray,
Well, as we sit here in Mesa, AZ, we're not burning anything!
We're not really going to do much traveling until mid April when we'll start heading north. Our actual driving is about 4 hours tops now that we are retired and fulltiming. We usually stick around one central point and then use the toad to go sightseeing.
Filling up with diesel will hurt a little more, but it won't put a pinch on our lifestyle. Of course we don't have the stickhouse to have to heat up either. Now THAT'S a big fuel bill!!!
I hope fuel prices won't limit your fun. Maybe sticking around one or two places at a time will work for you.
Happy traveling,

AKBrick

Extra days so the day cost is lower seems silly, but it is how you look at it. We all have the same problem and I guess in 10 years we will think $4.00 /gal will be cheap. I know we just enjoy our MH and use the Vue for shorter trips. 18MPG vs 7.5. Enjoy life and you can't take it with you. Your kids will spend it or Uncle Sam will take it away. The market will come back and campgrounds will be less croweded until then.

I do have to admit that we are currently planning about 10,000 miles this summer. Starting in April to a crissening in NJ, ending with the balloon festival in NM. Should be a busy year.
PS I forgot a FMCA rally and a nascar race thrown in for good measure.
