I have a 50-amps Surge Guard hard wired to my trailer. It does everything I want it to do. However, before I pull into a site, I would like to plug in a portable circuit analyzer to check everything out first. Surge Guard sells this 30-amp tester:

Circuit Analyzer | Technology Research Corporation

Does anyone know of a 50-amp tester? I don't need the surge protections; just want something that will check for power, polarity, open grounds, etc. Thanks.

Glenn,

One of the jobs of the surge protector is to analyze the circuits prior to allowing the electric to come into the rig. That's what it's doing in the 2 minute and 14 seconds before the electric gets turn on. As we've found out in our 6 years of travel........there are many electric issues out there in RV parks. The TCRI surge protector has save our buns many times. HTHs rockin'

Check this site out. Go to "Outlet Testing. There you will find a 30 amp and a 50 amp tester you can make real easy and cheap. I made one and it works great. Here is the tester:

Thanks. I did find that via a Google search, but was thinking someone already had a "portable" tester like the Surge Guard 30-amp item. If I can't find one, I'll make the one from the myrv.us site. I know if will be way less expensive!
