because we are now really fulltiming?

In the last two years we have spent less than 10 nights in the stix and bricks. The house sold recently and now we are really fulltimers. Why is it that all of a sudden we have to have all this "stuff" with us that we have done without for 2 years? I keep asking myself that question over and over but I can't come up with a logical answer.

Not yet full time but it took all day to transfer stuff from our 5er to a new MH last week. I know where it came from, but not why we kept some of that stuff.

Oh yeah....a good one. I'm an ol' Carlin fan. Very weird material, but very unique. He always seem to talk about things that everyone thought of, but never talked about cause they were not "proper" manners. rockintom

So let me see, you want me to tell Miss Jo that YOU said "just let it go" regarding her spinning wheel and fiber stash, beading supplies, knitting yarn and weaving loom and materials? Is that what you want me to tell her? I just want to make sure that you get all the credit you deserve.

If I can give up $45,000 of tools and my shop, Donna gave up about 400 of her precious books, Miss Jo can give up her wheel and string!!!

Did you say "stash"??? Like where are you now maaaan! Virg, I had no idea you were "holding"

Slowly but surely, one piece at a time, all the "stuff" found a place. We took each item we had, made a decision on it to go to storage or stay and found each of them a home. I am again amazed at how it all came together. We were carrying "stuff" I had not seen in months. That "stuff" went to storage and new "stuff" found a home. I suppose that next year when we go through our current "stuff" more of it will go to storage. Regardless, Since 2004 we have successfully moved from a house which was 5000 sq ft of heated and cooled space to first, a 2000 sq ft house and a 1000 sq barn and now to a 400 sq ft fifthwheel and a 224 sq ft storage trailer! The next step may very well be a 32 sq ft box.

We are less than a month away from all the "stuff" being gone! Nothing in storage, some(probably too much) to the new Excel 36BDO, some stuff to the "heirs" (early inheritance!!), lots gone in a garage sale, lots donated to various charities, and the remaining unfortunately goes to the landfill. The stix and brix is gettin pretty empty, bed sold,--sleeping on an air bed --- dishes sold, --paper plates and plastic tools.

Alex,
Congratulations! It is FUN out here. Welcome to fulltiming. I'm just beginning to feel the freedom and I already like the feeling.

This thread got me into the mood to go through more stuff here yesterday after coming back from meeting some Alpine members and realizing how much I miss being in an RV. ...but I realized last night after my walk that I won't be hitting the road anytime soon after all...and...I evidently still have too much stuff in my RV kitchen... I found that I kept having Sacs bring "one more thing" (usually for the kitchen) while I was in Eugene. I love to cook and entertain so the kitchen is a very important part of the rig for me...but I will continue to see what I can get rid of...
...Thanks for the inspiration, "John"...

Good thread “John”! To me less material stuff is more freedom! Once a year I go completely through my coach and it is amazing the stuff we haul around and don’t use or even forget we have something and buy more. MonacoMama all campgrounds have a hall with a full kitchen for our use. I would never entertain more than total of four or go to someone’s coach if I knew there was going to be more than four people.
MM, you just have to let go.....
