We have been looking at a Winslow 31RLE and was
wondering about likes or dislikes of this floorplan.
EXCEL seems like they have really stepped up their
quality over the last year but I have read alot about
water leaks in their slides, has anyone had this problem
with their Winslow? Thanks for any replies.

Welcome hitcher.........while we looked very close at this floorplan and like it a lot.....we decided on the limited model cause we like all the "gee-gaws" it has to offer, and our other 2 Excels were limiteds.

Regarding the slide water leak.......read this post that Bryan made regarding that issue. Comment #7 rockin'

Thank you rockintom, the post answered my question. We have a 2007
HitchHiker and have never had any water leaks but I am constantly
checking caulking and places where water can get in.When we first
looked at the Winslow I went back and got on this forum and it scared
me the amount of posts about water damage and I almost crossed EXCEL
off of our list. At first I thought it could be the all wood construction
that EXCEL uses, but I guess it could it happen in aluminum construction
too.

greetings hitcher......we have a 2011 winslow 31rle and really like the layout. it opens up to a very spacious living area. we added the fold-out extension table in place of the base cabinet/fireplace to create a 2 person work space for laptops etc. now the dining room table can be set and used for its original purpose.....eating, without having to put away toys at meal time. dw loves that the kitchen sink faces the entertainment center. she can cook and do dishes and still see the tv. also when the slides are in the kitchen is fully useable. space around the bed is a little tight but that keeps the overall length shorter which we like. the 34 rle has more room around the bed but its over 2ft longer and a little heavier. what model hitchhiker do you have? we looked at them for a long time but decided on excel. any particular reasons for going away from hh?.....mjf.

We have the 29.5 LKTG model HitchHiker. We really like our HitchHiker
and the EXCEL is the only other brand I would consider to replace it with.
Both companies have their plus and minuses,we just like the 31 RLE
flloorplan and EXCEL has quite a few more standard features over the
hitchhiker LS model for the money in my opinion, but are still considering
both companies. One thing I like on the Winslow is the new front cap
design, looks like it would work well with a short bed truck.
