Anyone as tired of problems with this unit as I am? Currently I'm on my 4th repair in less than 2 years. 'bout ready to throw it out and get a GE or something like that to replace it. 1)Motherboard failure 2)Two plastic door seals breaking, 3)Convection inop. 4)Door release mechanism failure. Almost every repair requires disassemble of the unit to fix........sad unit indeed. Enough of my whining today. Tom

Maybe that's why our 2007 has a Dometic microwave/convection oven. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, so can't comment on it's reliability.

Think Peterson only used this brand of unit for a year or two. The dealers I've talked with don't give great comments on it!! Linda, you are right on! I think many other units are good ones. Tom

As far as I know it's just the Apollo that's the problem. I know many other ovens work good. Tom

Tom,

I think we have just been lucky with the Apollo. Almost two years of considerable use and no problems. I think everyone I have talked with who has one has had problems. Knowing it's problematic I talked with the guys at PI last summer when we were there about what you can do to replace it. From what I understand, they replace the cabined next to it with a narrower one and put in the Dometic. Just what we need....less cabinets, right?

Our Apollo has not had any problems other than it appears to be under-powered.

Tom,
In my eyes, you're the "lucky guy".I envy you and your fulltiming lifestyle--my DW is just not ready to give up the stick house and all her "goodies".

Chief, now you mentioned that way, you are so right I am the lucky guy. My bride and I were glad to get rid of all those treasures (and the 3000 SF custom built home) we worked so many years for! It is a very "freeing feeling" to be footloose and fancy free. Oh these passages of life we go through. Aren't they wonderful? Just about the time you think...It can't any better than this...it does! FTing is not for everybody but it sure works for us. The parks are busy enough as it is!

I asked my dealer whether Excel is still installing the Apollo and she said she had not seen one in an Excel in about a year.

The new ones come with the Dometic convection oven in them now. That is what my ordered one is supposed to have.
