I am sure most of the Excel owners are familiar with the amazing football team from Smith Center.

There is an article in the September issue of Reader's Digest about Roger Barta their coach and the players.

Very good piece about the coach, the team and the town.

Thanks Jim,

Now, Bryan is going to remind me about how bad they kicked Oakley's butt in the playoffs.

I have found Reader's Digest to be less than accurate in it's reporting on occasion (NOTE: I'm being very very kind here.. Outright lie would be closer to the fact)

Several years ago there was a story "Anatomy of a strike" I think it was in a January issue

Accomponying the story is a photo.. The caption says "Striker assults a Vance Security Guard"

Photo shows a man wearing, as I recall, a flannel shirt and blue jeans, curled up in the fetal position, getting kicked clear into an emergency room by the jack booted Vance Security Guard.. Clearly it's the guard doing the assulting, not the striker.

Now.. least you think that's one man's opinion.. I will tell you I also read the follow up on that story a while later and there are at least 3 people who feel as I do

Myself
The striker

The federal court judge that awarded him damages for the injury the guard caused.

I could lkely add his lawyer too.. but lawyers are not required to believe their client.

I found a piece of paper blowing across the parking lot so I can’t take credit for this. Here is a link to a live webcast of the:

It will be a tough game tonight against Norton. I'll post later the results if I get to watch the news. Kansas Fall Excel Campout is going great.

I found the score on the "webcast" that HPD put up.

I just double-checked here - but no matter what the score was .. it was a big red W!!
