Things are slow, so here is another question
The Atwood display panel in the Winslow has electric on off switch and gas on off switch. In between the switches is a red lens. Is this supposed to light when either of the switches is on???
Thought I might get an answer without tearing it apart to see what is inside.

I just looked at mine Red and there is no light on for the electric side of the water heater, but there is for the gas. It really is no different than when the water heater switch was under the sink. I just visually check mine and if they are all on the off position I know the water heater is not heating.

red,
I'm not positive, but I would assume it's similiar to mine except mine has a light that is amber and says "reset" If you are using the propane for the water heater and the ignitor will try 3 times in a row within about 10 seconds to light the burner and if the flame doesn't light.....it sets the light and stops trying to light. Then you have to shut off the switch (I shut both the electric and gas off if they are both on) and let set for a minute and turn it back on again. It will then try 3 more times and set the light if it does fire again. The "three strikes and you're out" program is the exact same thing on the refer and house furnace. It's a great thing to remember especially if you ever run completely out of propane and get air in the lines.
This info should be in the Atwood owner's manual. RockinTomKnowsALotAboutPassinGas!

Mine only has a light on the gas that lights when it is on. There is no light when I put it on electric. Sense we both have 2010 I,m thinking that is the way they wired it.

If you would have read post #2, you could have saved you’re breath. Of course post #4 made you realize it is not like you’re antique!

Red,
I don't have any light like you are talking about. What happens when you shut both gas water heater and electric water heater switches off? Does the red light go off? If so turn on only gas water heater switch on and check the result. If no red light, do you heater the water heater light? After this turn on the electric water heater switch on the gas switched off and check the results. If this turns on the red light it might be an indictor light letting you know that the water heater is working. This would also apply if on the gas switch. I might just be that it works on both switches to let know that the water heater is turned on. Some other units I have seen work that way.

I don't remember any light on at anytime.....switches on, off, anyway.
I will have 'take it easy' out again today loading it so I will check all this out.
Maybe Bryan will give us the scoop about this

I have the same control, the red light lit when the water heater was having trouble keeping the flame lit. As rockintom mentioned, it will try to light 3 times and then the light will come on. I had to turn off both the gas and electric switch for the light to go out and the water heater to try to light again.
BTW, the problem turned out to be the igniter electrode a little too far away from the flame, it serves as the thermocouple as well and was not telling the circuit board the flame was lit.
The light has never come on during electric-only operation.
Here is a link to the owners manual, I found an explanation on page 4 under "GAS/ELECTRIC COMBINATION FUNCTION".

HPD,
Hmmm, sounds like you have something different or YOU may want to read your owner's manual!!!
Still,
Are you kidding?
Regarding Bryran, not having his computer with him..... I doubt if Bryan would go to the bathroom without his laptop! He wouldn't want to miss an new Excel order!!!!

Thanks, I tried mine again this morning and no light, so I am sure it is like you and rockin' said.
It would be nice if there was a light to show you when it was on. I always have to remember so I don't leave them on.

I wish there was one, too. I have an inverter that powers the whole coach and leaving it on drops my batteries quick
