Lol..maybe somebody near by has a simular coded remote control..but it has happened 3 times now in 3 different states lol. .it's unplugged now..done.

Chief, we talked about this.....mine does it too. 3 wind sensors, 2 modules....nothing fixes it. Dometic tech assist pretends there are no known issues with the Weatherpro wind sensor system. The only thing that does work on it is the 32*F retracting feature. Also when the ambient get close to 100*F.....the awning retracts. Put it out again and in about 30 seconds retracts again. This happens over and over until the temp comes down. My awning will not retract with any type of wind condition, no matter what speed you have the module set to. Bottom line....the wind sensor system on this model absolutely suck. The techs at SC just roll there eyes when the subject comes up. Sad indeed. And we paid extra for these things!!! Again, Dometic bury their head in the sand. No problem. Did I leave anything out. Folks on the internet sure bash it, not matter what forum you go to. BTW my last Excel rig had the exact same issue....same awning. I thought they'd have it fixed by now. Now I know, you can't fix it, if you deny there is an issue. rockin' ranting!

Guess I must be just plain lucky, for a change. I haven't had any of these strange problems with my awning. Only thing I have ever had to do was adjust the wind speed up from its lowest setting. That was only to keep if from going in on a strong breeze. Must have missed all the complaints on this and other forums as I wasn't aware others were having such difficulties.

Jablair, are you sure yours is a Dometic WeatherPro model and not the optional 9500 series? I understand the 9500 actually works correctly or as advertised.

If you have a WeatherPro and it works correctly. I need to come up to Riverside and watch it work......it'll be my first. Ha! Please respond!

PS: I'm in Hemet!!!

Gremlins I guess. The opening on it's own reminds me of a funny event (at least to me). Our former Excel friends Bruce & Jenna Brod were driving in Chicago and as he went around a corner something shifted in his basement hitting the awning extend button......oh crap!!! The awning came out and hit a city bus. End of awning....thank goodness for insurance! Stuff happens! rockin'

PS: We installed a cover over our switch in the basement. And THAT works good.

The opening on it's own worries me......the other is "normal" based on my experience! rockin'

I always unplug the power on mine when traveling and when setup where we are staying. Way to many surprises to leave it plugged in and taking any chances.

You guys need to move to Kansas. No need for an awning as the breeze blows to much or else Rock is flappin his gums and we get the after effect.
