When I ordered my new trailer I ordered it without the 16 foot awning. I hardly use an awning, when I sit outdoors I sit under my 5th wheel. I have plenty of shade and it is dry when it is raining. What I installed was two window awnings on both slide outs and two door awnings for my doors. I now do not have to worry that it is too windy and can leave them out all the time. Also it is nice to be able to stand under an awning unlocking a door when it is raining. The awnings are from Care Free and are made for a pickup camper. They can be ordered to what ever width you want so that the door can be completely open and are high enough that the doors do not rub the awning.
