B&W Hitch Safety

B&W Hitch SAFETY!
Be sure to check the 4 bolts on each side of B&W Hitch the ones that hold the uprights with rubber bumpers 4 3/4" Heads each side as had a couple missing others loose last year on one side and trailer shop replaced, this year went to hook up and could see bolts loose and ajar on other side hum, went to tighten oh you have to remove hitch so do and could tell holes were Oblonged took to shop and sure enough they had to replace all and add bolts, lock nuts, welded washers booth sides and small weld bead each side of base finsihed white spray paint. Hour Half Labor maybe two charged $120.00 shop thinks maybe worked loose from Heavy RV and Hard Towing hum

In most every hitch or baseplate installation I've ever done, the directions call for using Locktite Red applied to the threads before installation. In your photos I see no indication of any Locktite.

I agree with Bob. I also check the tour que of all hitch related every year or more often. I found the torque values on B&Ws web site. If needed they will ship you replacement bolts free.

Thought of Locktite as well but that's an after thought as hitch comes from factory new and all put together ready to tow no Locktite on any bolts in sight nor given any recommendations to do so...
