Richard I guess I got lost in the weeds of the OP comments...

Thanks for all the great advice. I finally figured out which is the positive and negative cables and have them marked and everything seems to be working off either battery or shorepower. However, apparently no power is coming from the converter to the battery when on shorepower as I get nothing when I attach the test light to either of the cables and the other to a ground .....

I assumed if everything seems to be working off either battery or shorepower....then the converter is working correctly.

My comments were to move the troubleshooting to the use of his meter to determine if the converter is operating correctly and further troubleshooting. A test light did the job for the OP to determine if voltage was there but it doesn't read voltages and isn't as reliable as a meter, my opinion.

I'm glad the problem is fixed even if I'm in the weeds.
