We were cleaning the outside of our rig and brought in the bedroom slide. Then noticed that we had no power in the bedroom or a couple of outlets in living area. John checked and the circuit breaker for the bedroom had to be reset. Bedroom slide was then brought out and all is well now. Was this a coincidental occurrence or is there something we should be checking.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

If there is a 110 outlet in the bedframe work or the slide itself, I think I would lift up your bed and take a look to see if the wiring has got caught or snagged and is causing the breaker to trip... It is possible with the bed moving in and out that the you may have pinch a 110 wire. Just something maybe to take a look at.

On my unit I have no 120vac outlets or wires within my bed slide. The outlets are on the side walls. The outlets in my bedroom are on the GFI breaker on the panel as well as those on the sofa/dinette slide, kitchen and outside outlet. Was it by chance the GFI outlet that was tripped?

Might have been a one time thing that had nothing to do with the slide movement or something related to the slide. Bringing the slide in several times might determine that.

ANY time a circuit breaker trips, you either have an over load or a short! YOU MUST check it out.. If you had nothing running then it's not an over load so it MUST be a SHORT. Where ever this wire is getting pinched or rubbed through, you have a potential for FIRE or ELECTROCUTION.
We don't want to see your RV in flames on U-tube or read your name in the back pages of a news paper. PLEASE - TAKE CARE OF IT NOW!

Thanks for everyone's replies.

Like Workshop said, there is no 120v wiring in the bed slide. Our outlets are on the side walls. Also, the GFI was not tripped.

I discovered the power was out when I tried to start the vacuum. We are now thinking the vacuum tripped the breaker. We will pursue this matter as there is NO WAY we want a fire or one of us electrocuted!

We really appreciate everyone's input.
