Well folks, it looks like soon we will be in the great Excel family.
Our 2011 Limited TKE is being built as we speak and our new Ford F-350 also.
Bryan was kind enough to match the Ford color scheme exactly to the RV. I got the color codes from Ford and that will be the colors of the 5th wheel.
The RV will have one extra Ford color that the truck will not and that is Ford's Tuxedo Black Metallic. The other two colors, Royal Red Metallic and Pale Adobe Metallic will be the two tone of the truck and make up the other two colors of the 5th wheel.
I have tried to attach a PDF file showing the color scheme. It is very similar to the optional paint scheme you can get from Peterson Industries.
Glad to here.

WOW! That's going to look great! I still remember what it felt like waiting the two-plus months while ours was being built, so I'm sure you're anxious to take delivery. Congrats!

Trust me. For about two years I studied 5th wheels. To be honest, it came down to the new 2010 Carriage Royals International XTRM5 or this Excel.
I chose Excel because of its history. For example, I have seen a lot of Carriage's for resale let's say on EBAY or other sites. However, not that many Excels.
Also, after joining many forums for different manufacturers; I believe the Excel is the right choice.
They are supposed to be ranked number one but I really didn't let that persuade me that much. I listened and studied.
Good luck.

Congrats....nice looking units. When did you order your truck? It tooks 6 weeks and 2 days for mine to hit the dealer. Hopefully you will get them both soon.

Thanks workhorse...I believe it was sent to the plant on the 4th of November. I am supposed to get an update on Tuesdays and Fridays but didn't get one yesterday.
While we are waiting, we are going ahead and putting storage sheds up for the RV, truck and another vehicle.
Our church gave us the property and a huge concrete slab to park on when we arrive back home.
I think we should have those up before the RV and the new truck is ready.

I'm sure I drove my dealer crazy...started looking at 2010 models initially because of the rebates/incentives being offered back in June. After a month of not finding what we wanted and pricing out the 2011...I changed the search but still couldn't find what I wanted in the color/options either. Finally on the 15th of Sept ordered what I wanted and glad I went that direction. I spent so much time researching the Ford F350 and GMC 3500....I told the dealer to tell me when he ordered it and when he got a VIN/delivery date, other than that, leave me alone!
A couple of months before ordering I would 'lurk' on The Diesel Stop forum. As with any forum, there was a wide range of information and comments...some useful and some not. One that was helpful was a discussion on a $750 coupon offer when a Brochure was requested. When I thought I was within 30 days of delivery....I requested a Brochure and indicated that I was buying within 30 days. Well, 4 days later I received a 'thanks for interest in the truck'...week later a Brochure in the mail that had the Coupon. When I checked with the dealer...they told me that Ford had given me an addition $750 for some reason....at which time I told them about the coupon, which they knew nothing about.
Looks like the incentives and offers are changing all the time....when I ordered it was $1500. When I picked up the truck I received a total of $4,250 for my area/zip code and other offers at the time. Ask your dealer and check the web....half the time I don't think they knew !!
Good luck with the plans and sounds good.

Man I know what you're going through! Jan and I are right in the middle of trying to determine what comes with us, what gets handed down to the kids, what we may be able to sell, and what goes to Goodwill. We're both still working, so we can only do this on weekends. After just a few hours, we're exhausted. But in the end, I know it will all be worth it!

Been there done that....after much research we went with a "very professional" (and expensive) 4 day estate auction. This is where they come in and have experts (usually retired folks that spent their career in that industry) Art, jewerly, tools, guns, etc.
You simply take out what you want, and leave. They take over and "stage" the house....that takes about 12 days. After four days of sales, they have several folks come in and bid on what's left as a complete package. They clean the carpets and it's all done. Ready for the new home owners.
We had to search a lot to find someone that was a true professional and had a real good following. The first day of the auction....buyers were lined up going down the driveway and down the street prior to the auction starting. They even had folks assisting in parking on the street.
Again after a lot of research, we elected to not to keep storage. I you interview folks that have FT for a number of years......you'll find that those who used a storage did so for about 6-8 years, getting a smaller storage every year due to cost and at the end they are sweeping out the dust from what the bugs got to!!!! What a waste of good happy hour money!!! My wisdom for today!!! Ha. rockin'
