Tom,

Thanks for posting this; I just installed mine this weekend. Jan loves it; she hates it when a fly gets into the house! Took about 15 minutes to mark, cut, and install. I must have got a discount on mine; only paid $19 (including shipping).

"Price: $15 plus $4 S&H. I will ship multiple units for the same shipping charge."

Yeah, I can see how one could get confused. That's why I always use a spreadsheet.

Reel-EZ Hose replacement?

So my water hose is getting old and I decided to replace it. Does anyone know how to replace the hose in the Reel-Ez hose reel? I was thinking all that needed to be done was to feed the hose from the inside to the outside but no luck. I thought there may be a way to detach spool but apparently not. Is there a way to get the hose off or do you need to replace the entire Reel-EZ when the hose needs replacing? Surely not.

Needing a place that was out of the way and one where I wouldn't have to remove other things inorder to get to my fishing rods...when carried...I came up with this space.

It's in the forward, generator compartment and between the two front jacks. The rods, salt water - 6.5 ft, just fit in the space.

Each rod has a velcro band at each end that secures the two-halfs together when not in use making them easy to handle until ready for use.

I used 1.5 inch aluminum flat bar to make the hangers, easy to work and bend to the shape needed for the hangers and then position to fit.

The hangers are bent back/positioned so the rods are close together and a velcro band, in the center, is used to secure them together for travel.

That really looks neat. I used to have a piece that stored 4 poles but in the new rig it didn't fit.

I went and bought a 4.5' piece of 4" PVC w 2 caps. I now store 7 poles. The longest is an 8' ocean pole. I take all the reels off and store them in two plastic shoeboxes. This really saves on the space in the basement.

We don't get much rain here in the desert, and we don't move all that often, but I was getting tired of wiping down that unruly 50 Amp power cord every time we disconnected. It also took up a lot of space in the basement. I picked up a Sterilite 25 qt. plastic container at Wal-Mart (about $8), cut our a notch in each end, and coiled up the power cord inside. It's a lot easier to wipe off the container, and I can stack other stuff on top of the container when traveling.

Great idea Glenn. Another tip is when you have the cord almost all the way out, and it's muddy, dirty or just wet, have a wash mit handy and put it on your hand and wipe the cord as you curl it back inside the tote. Helps keeps the crud out of the basement. Thanks for sharing. rockin'
