I had whacked the handle with a board but it wouldn't budge. Finally I gave it a hard steady shove - it closed!

The cable assembly and the body of the valve looks brand new. I'm wondering if the blade needs lubrication. Seem like I've read about products that will lube dump valves.

Tomorrow I will ask the previous owner if he had issues with it. I know he's hardly used the rig in the last few years, maybe it will free itself up with use.

So what's the latest status on this issue, Brad......rockin'

Rockin,

I've accepted the fact that the black water valve is hard to close but do-able. I've exercised it several times and it seems to be loosing up a little.

The arctic blast has caught me almost unprepared. I did get all the drains opened and drained the water tank along with the low point drains. Tomorrow I will try to get some pink stuff circulated. I may be posting a question or two about that.

Brad, just a hunch here but if the valve looks new I wonder if it was installed and the four bolts were over tightened putting it in a bind? You may want to loosen them a bit to see if it moves easier. You can grease it with plumbers grease but without removing the gate valve you can only grease the shaft. If your going to remove it you should just replace it. But grease the new one also.

Hope your manual helps with the pink stuff. Our 2006 came with the wrong one. Got figured out.
