Cap eternabond

We were traveling across NM west bound on I-40 into high winds yesterday and this morning I noticed the leading edge of the 4" eternabond strip on the front cap had curled up. Between rain storms today in Blue Water Lakes State Park i managed to clean it up with denatured(?) alcohol and repair the bad section. Fortunately I had some of the stuff and this time reinforced the front edge with Dicor. This is the second time this has happened in the last year.

I have used Eternabond on 2 MH the last one was on 10 years. I would say the surface was not cleaned properly or rolled down as instructed. Maybe silicone was underneath. I just finished doing mine, and I know it's not coming up. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/star...id-244908.html

Without question, original surface not super clean. On my 2nd Excel, I had 2 LR slides that did the same thing, sides curled up, end to end. Had to remove and clean good (what a job!) and install new tape. Shortly after that, traded in rig, so don't know the life cycle on that repair.

My current rig has had no "Eternabond" issues to date. rockin'
