Ceiling fan blades now hitting parlor slide

Our ceiling fan blades in our 35MKE are hitting on the crown molding when we pull in the parlor slide. We have replaced all the blades with new ones (identical in size) and are still having the same problem. I can guide it in by hand while hubby is pushing switch, but why is this happening now? All the screws are tight, and the fan doesn't appears to have dropped. Has anyone else had this experience? Thanks in advance!

Are you saying that it didn't happen before and just started? If so, something has moved. The fan blades or slide did not gain in dimension.

I don't know why that is happening now but methinks you have these 5 options.
1.) Remove the fan.
2.) Remove the crown molding.
3.) Move the fan farther from the slide.
4.) Get a new fan with a smaller diameter.
5.) Get shorter blades for the fan you have.

BTW you didn't think expect that replacing "all the blades with new ones (identical in size)" would solve the problem did you?

We didn't realize the fan blades hit when it was not running; we thought someone slid the slide in while it was running and was out of balance. In stationary position, the blades cleared by about 1/32 of an inch. But now they don't. Maybe blades are 1/8" longer...will see if we can find even shorter ones.

Sue,
Only 3 possibilities here.
*ceiling fan has dropped
*slide has risen.
*you have the rig frame in a bind on set up. If the rig is off side to side very much on set up and you have a hydraulic system, you can put the frame in a twist to cause what you are talking about. If so, put shims under the tires of the side that is low to get somewhat level (I only use the side to side adjustment to tweak) and then retry your fan blade clearance issue. Please let us know.

Option 3 may be the answer. It's in storage right now and only slid the slide out to clean. Will look at that, thank you!

I think if its that close I would take the blades off and shave them down a bit on the ends. Just take some off one and lay it on top of the others to match and do the same.

X2 ... Try it with the old blades. Take off about 1/2" to account for changes in humidity/temperature/normal movement.

It doesn't seem right to me that it came with only that small amount of clearance. Possibly had the wrong fan at build. The manufacturer should replace it. JMO

Do the blades on your ceilings fan only hit the crown molding on the parlor slide when the parlor slide is IN?

If so methinks the simple solution to your problem is this:
Only operate the ceiling fan when the parlor slide is OUT
.

Bringing in the slide is the problem. Don't know about shaving the blades down a bit, they are cheap particle board like material. Will try Rockin Tom's leveling suggestion.

BTW, do the blades hit the face of the molding or the top of the molding?

Just a suggestion: turn the old blades over and reinstall. Occasionally the fiber board will warp and sag, especially in humid areas. Other than that make sure that all of the brackets have screws tightened and haven't been bent. Sometimes the simple solution is best.
