I ran across this today. 2011ChevHD . You know me, being a GM guy, this is refreshing news. Some of the specific numbers are not available yet...but it is very encouraging. 20,000 lbs. trailer towing capacity, more horsepower and torque, cleaner/greener, new stronger frame, exhaust brake (opt.) and etc.

Now my Tug is becoming an antique! This game we're playin' is gettin' expensive. Like the monkey said when he peed in the cash register.....this is runnin' into money!!!

Bryan........don't drop the big rigs just yet!!! ol' rockybaby, with the Chevy Bow Tie tatooed on my hinny!

Rockhead,

While the 2011 is nice, it's still a LGT!! Cost more, will not pull with the big boys, won't last like the HDT's, cost more, can't see what your going to hit when you can't get stop. Might work good for chick attractor.

I'll stop there, cause I know that GM blood runs deep in your hinny and I'm not going to do a transfusion on you.

I'll get ya back on topic. I wish they'd bring back the cowl induction that the SS 396s had. Now that was cool! David

Hi Tom, I think I read somewhere the 2011 Duramax diesel does not require or use the urea fluid. Heard anything on that?

Ray, IN... someone was talking to me yesterday about this truck and the urea fluid...now I wished that I had paid better attention to exactly what was said I will try to double check tomorrow if no one else gets back to you.

According to the new issue of the TDR magazine I received last night, the new Fords and Chevys WILL require DEF (urea). The Dodge Ram Heavy Duty pickups will not, but the chassis cabs will (different duty cycle, so different emissions treatment approach).

Consider the source and take it for what it's worth.

The article says that it will use it and be approximately 5000 miles between charges.

Tim is right again....here's the sentence in the article.....

The Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) used in the process does require refilling every 5,000 miles. In addition, the new engine is B20 biodiesel capable.

Having a extra container of something laying around in the truck is not good for me......I'm liable to drink it!!!! rockin'

Tom,
DEF is UREA! You better lay off the OP if you start drinking that.
