Chock options
Our '07 30RKE has LT235/85R16 tires on it. There's not much room between the tires and the BAL X-chocks won't fit. Living in West Virginia, we naturally live on the side of a hill. Until we get to move to SC (Where it's FLAT..) I could use some suggestions. The coach has lots of movement, with both the landing gear and rear stabilizers down. I'm hoping a good set of chocks will help that a bit.
With my knee about to fall apart, I need something that would be fairly simple for me or my beautiful bride to use. I have a set of regular wheel chocks that look like this:
I was hoping to put something between the tires. Also, with the plastic trim coming down from the slides, there's not much room to get any chocks in. See what I mean here:
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

They work very well. On my previous trailer I couldn't put my fingers between the tires and RotoChocks worked great.

I've used Roto Chok for 10 years......wonderful. They are pricey though. Excel 2014 just came by yesterday and he said he got some Bal Chock (metal ones) and seemed happy with them for the price. Just relaying his opinion. rockin'

Unfortunately though, my BAL chocks won't fit between my tires.. They will probably be thrown in the shed, with all my other "Spare" stuff...

I have been using RotoChok's since our 2005 rig we had. They do work great!

I'll add another vote for the RotoChocks, I've had a set since 2005 and they are the best chock available.

We've had RotoChoks for about 12 years and they do a great job as far as stability. But you're right, they shouldn't be used to hold the rig in place especially on an incline.

I must be missing something. Why wouldn't I use my RotoChoks for holding the rig in place? I use mine for that and to minimize rig wobble. It also holds the rig in place when backing the truck up to hitch up. rockin'

On occasion when doing my 'pull test', I'll release the trailer brakes, then when I've taken my foot off the truck brakes, the truck (and trailer) will roll forward. I get out, check the chocks and they're still tight. Don't know why, but the chocks apparently just slid between the tires. I even retighten them after initial set up and the tires have cooled and contracted a bit. Difference in type of suspension? User error? Something else? Don't know. Don't care. Wouldn't want to depend on them to hold a rig in place on an incline.
I read a post just like mine a few years ago and I scoffed at it because it never happened to me. Then it did.

Dave, I see you have a HH....do you have a Demco pinbox? You can get a a heck of lot of roll on the full travel of the Demco forth to aft. I've tried to move my rig with the RCs in. and you'll drag the tires on the coach before the tires slip on the RC. Just my experience. rockin'

Got the Demco box but I have rolled a couple of feet at times before reapplying my brakes. I suspect it may have something to do with the air suspension causing some tire spacing flex since I never had a problem with our previous two rigs. Sitting still everything is fine, but if it rolls when the truck's attached and in gear, seems like the same thing might happen on an incline. YMMV.
