Compartment door holders

We have a '99 35SKO that uses a different (older) method of holding open the compartment doors. I've attached a picture so you can see what I'm talking about. Due to age, the doors aren't held open as well as they once were. I see three options, and I'll list them in order of preference.

1. Do something to the existing holders so they work.
2. Replace them with new ones from the factory if they have them available.
3. Replace them with the kind now being used that clip over the door when opened.
4. ?

I have a 2000 with the same, I went with the number 3 solution. Can buy at any camper supply about 1.50 each.

Those are snap locks and still being used today (on smaller and lighter doors). I keep a couple of them in stock with me at all times. They're cheap to buy at any RV parts store. They have a few characteristics. 1) They break if you snap them quickly when very cold outside. 2) If you happen to get wax on/in them, they lose their "snap" and the door will come down on you (especially bigger compartment doors). I cover mine with masking tape when waxing. They will finally just flat wear out in due time. HTHs rockin'

I also vote #3. I used the Bullet latches when I replaced mine. Post #14.
