What do you plan on using to clip the shafts? Isn't some pretty tuff stuff? Just curious. rockin'

I have also lacerated my scalp on these access door shafts several times. As well as torn a pair of jeans on the T handle latch when I squeezed between the open tailgate and closed door. So I like Rockin’s two mods. Thanks!

BTW The cams on my 07 trailer are also all backwards. Looks like the subject of the next factory QA training.

Thanks for the support Bruce....I always enjoy support like that when I'm trying to stir up "hate and discontentment"! The cams being installed backwards are not a major deal, just doesn't allow for a "final crush" on the the compartment door and seal.

Anyone else wanna come clean???

Mine are backwards, too. I've adjusted one door and all close fine, so I'm leaving well enough alone! Now to learn how to control a caulking gun...

Bryan,

From the looks of our responses, it might be worth a look on the line and see what's happening. We have an '09 model that reportedly has the cams on backwards. rockin'

cam

The photo Rockin posted with the cam backwards and the one on my rig. The beveled side of the cam is to make contact with the door frame when latched.

Is this worth fixing? Will it prevent wear on the door frame or some other reason?

My doors close fine otherwise.

OK, my are fine so don't get excited Bryan and I apologize to both Bryan & Rockin'!!. I read the thread incorrectly. Bruce & Jenna, it's an easy, easy fix. Just do a door at a time as you have time. It took me about 5 minutes to readjust one door where the mechanism has worked loose. (used trial & error method) David
