I spent the afternoon cleaning the top of my trailer, the slides outs and then those slide out seals. I had all of Texas and N.M. dirt on those seals. I remember last summer treating them with something, I don't remmber the name for sure. Does that stuff just attract the dust and dirt? Any wisdom would be appreciated.

Yo Farmer,
I use to use the silicone spray, but it does attract stuff on the seals and starts to look funky and dirty after a while. My buddy Paul (clspds - cloud for short!) shared what he does and it workin' for me. Get seals clean, nice and white (like you've already done) and then apply Protectant 303 liberally on a rag or whatever and apply to the seals inside and out. Expense but it works nice. I also apply the same to the polyflex (floor) on the bedroom slide. Hope that helps! Others may have different suggestions. rockin'

Ok, I have a lot of 303 left over from my boat days, but what is best to first use to clean the seals??

Doug,
I just use something like Awesome on a water moistened rag, then when clean I use Windex on an another rag to remove the residue. To do the seals inside and out, it's about a one day job. Tom

Seein how good you are at that I will wait until you get around this neck of the woods to give me individual instruction. I would bet as dumb as I am it will take you ¾ of a coach for me to get the hang of it.

Larry,
I would do that just to be invited to your neck of the woods! It is beautiful there in the summertime!

You're probably right, it would take you a while to get the hang of it.....not because you're dumb....but you're lazy! Do you think your ol' rig could take a good cleaning without coming apart at the seams? Touche'! It's trade-in time, dude!

My cleaners of choice lately have been 409 and Zap's Orange cleaner. Have used the 303 on my trucks bed cover, guess need to try it on the seals next.

Funny Tom didn't say anything about my seals during the inspection....only those pest-T lags.

Larry I tried playin dumb with Tom an it done me know differ.

Workhorse,

They musta been fine. You know me, if I don't say anything, they were fine. Your "beast" shined like a diamond in a goat's bu**! My bride is still talking about your "lovely" bathroom closet. We learn from one another but now my problem on that task is I'm "lazy". I JUST DON'T HAVE TIME!!!!

Chief,

Where IS you been? Are you just noticing the "workhorse" thing? About a month ago, one of our newer members called Chris workhorse by accident and we've been going back and forth with it since.....get with it old man or we'll take that "high powered" prestigious (thank goodness for spell check!) job away due to incompetence! Anyhow I quit smokin' that there wacky tee-backy almost a week ago!
So there!

Okay guys I had a brain fa%t -- you got me and I deserve everything you send my way!

Actually, I do remember and after I posted the comments I went out to my "workshop' and knew I had left myself wide-open. I'm cooking some antique blacksmith tools in my de-rusting pot, must be the hydrogen gas getting to me!
