Dometic Power Awning Recall
I read this today and thought I'd share. It appears that this includes 27,000 units that were all very late model builds. Check the dates and serial numbers outlined and see if yours is involved. http://rvnewsservice.com/2013/05/08/...rive-your-rig/

Since one is not supposed to drive the unit, I wonder how long it will take them to send technicians to everybody's location??? Glad I'm not caught in this one.

Bryan. Our Awning is the 815 model and falls under this problem. Our Didymop is less than a year new to us. What do we do about this?

Beth, check the serial number, not the model number. Your awning is probably not part of the recall. Get the serial # and call Dometic. They can tell you if yours is affected and schedule a repair at your location if it is.
The motor powered awnings and awning motor service kits were manufactured between February 13, 2013 and April 9, 2013. The serial number range for the WeatherPro and 9100 motor powered awnings is 306XXXXX thru 314XXXXX.

Ours did have a manual in the large pkg of manuals. I haven't checked our serial # either yet. I have seen lists of manufacturers recalling the affected awnings-so just assumed PI would contact anyone affected. Probably shouldn't assume.
