I had the crank out jalousies on my last rig and in temps colder than 45, they created noticeable cold areas in an area of about 2 feet in the vicinity of them, like behind a sofa, etc. It was not a draft, just colder ambiant air.

In our Excel with the dual panes there is no similar temp drop close-by the windows, and it is as quiet as the grave in there. I was sceptical of the claims of a drastric difference, but I am now a believer.

I agree, we visited our dealer yesterday and was very impressed with how quiet it was inside with the dual pane windows. Cars passing on the highway and Interstate where hardly noticable compared to standing outside. I too was very skeptical at first because we live in a straw bale house with 2-foot thick walls and it is difficult to compete with that kind of sound isolation.
