Hi all, heres the story. I had a 50amp progressive hooked up about 2 wks. I was hooked up to 30 amp at home and all seemed fine. The readout gave all proper readings. Went to a park this last week and pluged into 50 amp, shortly there after DW smelled something getting hot. Unplugged as quick as I could.I was looking at readouts after I hooked up and all read fine.( E0,L1 117 2a,L2 116.oa).
Plugged into 30 amp and seemed okay but GFI breaker had tripped and would not reset and now no microwave.
Had a elec. from work come and check things out. He was at a loss to figure it out.Power at all locations was correct. We replaced GFI breaker and replugged into 50 with no issues.
I called Progressive and the teck. said he didn't believe it was a surge as it would have taken out more.
So what do you guys think?
Side question, Is there a reset on Dometic microwaves?
Thanks Ray

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the microwave has 1 or 2 of it's own internal fuses.

Do a Search, I think RockinTom had to open his up, to replace the fuses

Ray, the microwave does have a fuse behind the control panel. Unplug from power, remove top vent cover and you will find a screw hollding the control panel escushion. Remove the scrwe and you can lift up panel 1/4" and then away from microwave. You will need a 15 amp AGC type fuse if it is blown. If it is not blown be very careful not to go venturing further inside as the high volt capacitor packs a punch. Let us know what you find.

Thanks Mike, I did find a fuse, and found a enclosed drawing. The fuse was still good though, but at least it was worth a try. Guess I will call PI and talk to them on my next move.
thanks again, Ray

Ray on your microwave, if the fuse is good, does any of the panel light up, the clock etc. Or was the hot smell that was noticed the microwave? The micro on my unit has its own circuit breaker. When your friend was there assume all the breakers were reset when he was replacing the GFI and checking voltages.

If the micro panel doesn't light and the breaker is set, would check the power at the microwave's outlet to varify power. If voltages are there and microwave doesn't operate, would have to assume the micro at fault.

We had identical set up as yours and the identical problem with microwave AND the GFI wouldn't reset. PI sent new micro to dealer for quick install.
