Does anyone have any pros and cons to offer on the Limited 33RSE. My DH and I are really loving this floor plan, and we are thinking of taking a look at the Excel within the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for any help!

Patty

Patty,

That is the rig we have. I have only one complaint, it is not a 35RSE. We love the floor plan and other than either the MKE or TKE I would like another RSE. It is my understanding that it was the most popular floor plan until either the TKE or MKE. It would be a great choice.

Patty,

We own an 04 33RSE. We snowbird for 6 months each year and it is the perfect size and floorplan for us. Good luck shopping.

We had a 2007 33RSE with the king suite. The only "complaint" we had was the lack of space around the bed. We traded it for a 35RSE and absolutely love it. One of the best things is that I don't notice any difference in pulling the 35RSe and the 33RSE. One of our main "likes" is that we are able to access the refrigerator, bathroom, and bedroom with all slides in.

Hi Larry, Thanks for your positive comments on the RSE. I am kinda freaking out about the length of the 33RSE, so a 35RSE would not be for me. We had a 25' fiver before, so the 33RSE sounds HUGE to me. It doesn't bother DH tho. Also DH didn't want to get a fiver that had the stove, etc. in the slide. Have you ever heard of any problems with this? I love your quote from Dr. Sidney Freeman - DH loves MASH too!

Paul, Thanks! Yes, I'm loving that floorplan too!!! AND as I've only mentioned 1,000,000 - all the windows!!! We love windows, windows and more windows!

Unifinished91, We are opting for the Queen bed, so we should be okay with the space around the bed. I'm SO happy to hear that these trailers are so easy to tow. Were you able to access the table in the 33RSE? Did you have to put the slide out a bit? That was one of our questions, but it surely won't be a deal breaker for us!

Thanks all so much!

Patty

Hi Again Larry, OOPS! I see that the fridge is in the slide of the 33RSE. I'm wondering if DH noticed that! I'll have to see what he says! Are there any problems with the fridge and/or stove in the slide?

Thanks, Patty

Patty,
I'm not 'Larry' , but our refrigerator and stove are in our large kitchen slide and we have never had a problem. IMO, in the "old days" there were some problems with appliances being located in slide-outs. I believe that most of the manufacturers have improved their slide-outs to the point that this is a non-issue.

Mr. KnowItAll (aka 'RockinTom') will chime in with his two-cents. Very smart man that Mr. Tom and we have all learned immensely from his wisdom.

John

We have an 05 Limited 33RSE and haven't had any complaints or issues with floor plan or anything else. A great unit. I'm looking at O8s now and will go with the same floor plan if we do. Don't want to go any longer as it may cause a length problem when pulling the boat.
Good Luck. You will like the Excel!

Patty,

One of the benefits of that floorplan is that you can access the fridge, couch and table and chairs with the slides in. Makes for a great time when stopping for lunch.

We have never had a problem with the fridge on the slide or the kitchen sink on the slide in our older model.

I did notice a difference in towing from our old 30 ft Classic to the 33 ft Limited but I don't think the 35 would be much more of a problem. Like Ace said the length might be an issue if you tow something behind the trailer.

Some have indicated they don't like the 35 or 36 ft models when towing around the East coast as they tend to have older smaller campgrounds, so I have heard.

Ace,

Where did you get that little shelf near the door. I thought you said CW but I can't find it at the store or catalog.

We have spent a FT year in our 33RSE now. Like it a lot. Tho we did remove the oversize recliners in the back and replace them with a desk set built to our order in Phoenix. Makes a big difference. You can find a pic of it in one of my posts on this site. Or PM me for more info.

I dunno about no difference in towing with a 35RSE. We bought a 07 F350 as a tow vehicle, which was just right to town this trailer. I believe a 35RSE would have required a bigger tow vehicle, like an F450 or one of those MDTs

Rather than answer your other questions in separate posts, I'll also say this:
We received warranty service at the Sacramento dealer. Very competent guys, who knew a lot about Excels.
Options - well there are options and there are options. For example, PI will install additional wiring for you if you ask, for a better price and a better job. Like solar wiring extra 12v outlets. Or different furniture like a dining room booth. Ask others here and elsehwhere what they would have added from the factory if they had known.

Good luck. You will be pleased.

Ace, Thanks so much for your comments regardng the 33RSE. I don't want any longer of a trailer than the 33RSE either. Are you still able to order 2008's? Do you know when the info for the 2009's will be out?

Larry, OH! I'm so happy that you can get to the table, etc. while stopping for lunch. We stop for lunch frequently when we are on the road. We do most of our traveling in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and there are many older campgrounds there too. That is one of reasons that I don't want too large of a trailer.

Thanks again for all your help!

Patty

Chief,

There you go again trying to make my head bigger than it already again... That is very kind of you to say that. Now you know it only takes a few minutes for me to mess it all up!!
