The Colorado Excel Club's Rally is winding up today. We arrived mid-day yesterday and only got to attend one dinner but what a great time we had. About 5 or 6 couples are staying over this week for the New Mexico Rally starting this Thursday. Miss Jo and I are looking forward to a very enjoyable week. This is our first Excel event of any kind but it won't be our last. Great folks!

Along with President Larry Godby, we had a few minutes last night to talk about this forum and seemed to generate a good bit of interest. I'm looking forward to a few new members or at least some new "lurkers"! Sure hope they will join in the fun!

After 15 of us went ATVing with Miss Jo I think we might have a convert for the club. Might get some snow tonight we had flurries late this afternoon and the wind was blowing about 20 mph. We will make sure we take good care of Virg and Jo.

Thanks, Larry..we all know how tender Virg is..he's not used to that white stuff that falls from the skies! It sounds like you might be able to convert Smoke into a "crowd-lover" if you keep working your charm on him!

Seriously- I am glad you are all having a great time...just make sure you convert all of your members to forum members too!! (Just give me a heads up on the ones I need to be gentle with!!)

Jo went 4wheeling and I went fishin. I caught 2 small trout and Tim caught 1. Jo had a blast 4 wheeling with the group. So much so that in her mind, she joined the CO Excel Club, moved us here next summer AND when she got home was talking to me about how we could get our two 4wheelers out here from the right coast! Wow, was she stoked! You know what we always say, when Momma's happy, everybody is happy.

It is really beautiful here. I havn't seen this kind of scenery since we were in Alaska. Gonna be cold for a couple of days but warming back up with a lot of sun Thursday through Monday. It snowed more up on the peaks last night and sure is pretty(as long as it stays up there).

Mandy, I'm gonna try to do something with the 'crowd' today!

Dang, thats a first, a Right Coaster moving to CO. Should be some interesting politics with all the left coaster's living out there. I do admit that the folks from CO and NM are great people. Have fun. Billie made the statement we should join you all, but I'm tired of all the driving from last week.

Virigil tell Jo that Billie got another ribbon on her quilt. Three total. First place in her class, Best Of Show, and Quilt of the Day. Boy, does she have a big head now and with good reason. Not bad for first time showing at the State Fair.

...Still - the first is not even passable as an excuse ...You still have time to make it there on Thursday if you get to moving!!

I went online to the Kansas State Fair website looking for photos BUT the website has been hacked and hi-jacked (DO NOT GO TO THE WEBSITE!!!)... I would love to see photos of Billie's quilts - you can post them in Off Topic... or brag about your wife's talents down in that other section below... OR email me and I will brag for you!!

I haven't heard that much crying since our Grandson was born.

This included a 450 mile trip to attend a funeral and being in charge of the Ks Fall campout and you know what that is about.

Now give me heck

The fun continues up here in Creede, CO! Yesterday nine ATV's carrying 14 Colorado and NM Excel Club people went up into the mountains and got high enough to see it "snowing like heck" according to Larry Godby, President of the Colorado Club! They all reported having a blast. Since we have been here 3 couples have bought new 2-up Polaris ATV's. I think it is a disease!

Tim (Endeavor2BNC) and I went fishing for rainbows in the Rio Grande and within an hour and a half we caught 6 and 4 of them were pretty sizeable! Just another day of fun in the sun in the Rockies at 9,000+ ft. Miss Jo is already scheming on how to get our ATV's out here next summer!

Today 11 ATV's and 18 people rode up to the Bristol Head. What a BLAST! We had lunch at 12,700 ft elevation. The views were absolutely stupendous!!! I've never been that high and still been on the ground. Miss Jo and I rented an Arctic Cat 400, a 4 wheel drive, 2up, ATV for today and tomorrow. Yep, you guessed it. We're gonna do it again tomorrow.

Standing at 12,700 ft, Larry G., Tim S., and I had a conference call with RockheadTommie. He was cleaning his basement. We razzed him for a few minutes and had a few good laughs.

As we say down south, "wish y'all were here".

Sounds like so much fun! And thanks for thinking of me and giving me a call! It seems like we had gone close to 14,000 ft. someplace in CO. Man do you run out of air!!! Huff and puff and light headed even without Oak Poop. And it actually gave me a few tooth aches. Sounds weird, but true.

I hope you guys continue to have fun. You can bug me anytime! Be safe. RockyheadTommie.
