I am curious as to what others think of the furniture supplied with the Limited? I am not happy at all, especially with the chair. I've already had the back replaced once.

With the price paid for the top of the line, I think the furniture should be better quality.

What chair are you speaking of?? Euro? Recliner? or dining chairs??

We have had a couple of problems with the locking hardware on the recliners, but I just need to get some threadlock and I think our small issues will be fixed.

Wow, we're just the opposite here. We have "bomber jacket" leather covered recliners and couch and really like the stuff. One of the top reasons we bought this coach. We've only had it since April but I sit in the recliner everyday and I'm 6' 250 and we've had no issues. Have you talked to SC about your issues? With an 2006, aren't you still under warranty?

2goldens,
We also have the standard furniture package and regret not ordering the leather. The padded ceiling is another option we would have if ordering another Excel.

I keep trying to catch-up with my buddy Virgil, but have about given up!!

Our unit came with the standard cloth recliners and I can't comment on the quality as we didn't keep them long I will say that my wife and I didn't find them comfortable. We purchased 2 Berkline wallhuggers. They fit our unit well and are comfortable. If I were to order another unit I would ask that it could come without chairs so we could purchase ours at a furniture store.

I have the cloth recliner. I wasn't given a choice of ordering leather. Is the quality better? This recliner is stuffed with green fuzzy stuff, and of course, doesn't keep its shape...the arms are all lumpy. At first, gthe stuffing was coming out of the bottom back of the chair as the paper wasn't stapled. It is just plain not good enough padding. I am sitting on a wood bar at the back where the seat meets the back of the chair. I sent back the one part of the chair last year to PI and they sent me a new back...it is the same as the last one. One dealer told me I could order a new chair but I would have to pay for it. My feeling is, with the amount of money you pay for these units, the furniture should be better quality. Just wondered how others feel about it.

Darn Virg....just a few weeks ago you were talking 260 lbs......sounds like pullin' weeds has whipped you into shape!! Just funnin' ya!

We have have the leather recliners (I like, but are big and heavy). The only issue we've had is the glider mechanism had loose nuts which fell off during travel on both chairs. I reinstalled and tightened them and have been OK since. After 2 3/4 years of FT the kitchen chairs are getting a little loose and creaking which I don't fault the chairs cause we have some pretty heavy and routty friends that sit on them (maybe it's me I'm talking about). The PI factory folks that handle these chairs say there is nothing can be done 'cept to replace them. Just normal wear and tear I guess. Tom

Did you ask Jack to put that in writing?

We found the cloth chairs comfortable enough, but way too heavy and big for the rear of the LR. Couldn't see dragging them back and forth every time we packed up and arrived.

So we sold them at Life on Wheels for $250 within days of taking delivery of our trailer. We plan to put a desk and storage back there instead...soon as we get rid of the junk that migrates to the back when we go to sleep at night. Say, maybe the dog pushes all that stuff back there.

I agree with Virgil. We have the "Bomber Jacket" leather couch and chairs and find it to be very good quality. In fact, it was a big selling point for us in 2005. It's a shame it's no longer offered. After two years of full time use it shows no ware at all. In fact, it just gets more comfortable with use. My view is that PI needs to find another source for high quality leather furniture because it is something that everyone who has been in our coach comments about. It really does look good as well. Verry happy with it.

I can attest to Bob's furniture. That is some high end nice stuff! Bob kept waking up when I was dozing off.....guess he was afraid I'd take up camp in his rig!!!!

We have the cloth recliners in our rig. While they are comfortable enough, in order to lay completely back in them, you must pull them out quite a ways into the room. It would have been nice to have wall hugger recliners...which we'll probably replace them with at some point in time.
