The good folks in the Excel Mid-Atlantic Club have invited us to their Spring Rally at the Cozy Acres Campground, Powhatan, Va in May. By chance, we were going to be at this campground the week prior to the rally and were heading to the Norfolk, Va area on 14 May -- decided to change out plans and join these Excel folks. We're looking forward to meeting everyone!

We may send Donna there by herself until I can get there. Will someone help her unhitch our little gray trailer from our little girlie truck if we do that? Thanks! David

Davy,

And they mean it!!! We went to the last M-A Rally in the Outer Banks last spring. Most folks were all ready there. We pulled in the area and the folks guided me in, helped me back into my spot , had my sewage setup, water and electric before I could get the rig stopped!!!! All I had to do was hook up the cable TV!!! One musta spread the work I was holding an extra case of "Oak Poop" on board! May be exagerating a bit, but don't worry she'll be very well taken care of. These folks are a super fun loving group.....not bad....can you believe??? some is even "Yankees"!!!

David,
I'll be glad to assist -- then I can drool over your "little gray trailer" and try and convince Marilyn we should upgrade next year!

Thanks, everyone! It looks like we're going to do that. We picked up the trailer Tuesday, match trucked, and been practicing ever sense. She's done all the driving except aligning it on our driveway after she pulled it in. We're new to using a 5th wheel hitch, so she'll need a safety getting LGT2 off LGT1. She'll have a checklist with her, but always can happen. Let her do as much as she can. Take every opportunity to teach that arises. The goal is to have her as comfortable with that rig as possible. All help greatly appreciated! David

We're having a great time with the Excel Mid-Atlantic folks at their spring rally. Virg, the local Excel dealer has a 2010 Wild Cargo -- tells me he can give me a great deal at 95K. We haven't discussed al the particulars, but then again, we're not at the point we want to be to upgrade. Vey nice unit!!!

The chefs cooked up some deep fried turkeys last evening and we all brought a side dish -- great time had by all!! They didn't hold a grudge against us or being 'friends' of Tom?? Probably felt sympathy for us!

Tonight, a 'Low Country Boil' as only the folks on the East Coast know how to prepare -- hamburgers and hot dogs for those folks that don't like shellfish (Marilyn)!

We're taking pictures which I'll post once we get a decent internet connection. Take care!

How many showed up? We love that fried turkey...and can you believe some folks have never had it before? Great stuff. Enjoy and tell them hi from us. Travel safely and have fun!! rockybaby

Rockin': 21 rigs and Bubby did have the WC (39 something). I believe four new couples joined. We got there late and missed the turkey, but made the rest of the meals. Fortunately, I was eliminated during the first round of horse shoes. Feelin' those horse shoes today. Donna won jackets fom Bubby. And being a newbie, I did learn to use those hydraulic jacks to adjust the level of the trailer to keep the rain water from draining into the basement while hitching. Man there's soooooo much to learn! Going from a 27 ft, no-slide TT to a three slide 38 ft'er can seem a little intimidating. David
