We're approaching our two-year anniversary for our "Excel Owner's Forum". There have been numerous recommendations for additions or improvements we would like to see on our Excels. This will be our "Wish List" for Bryan and the folks at SC .
The current discussion on drain valves is a good example. Brian and Jenna recommended adding electric drain valves as an option.
This topic is a 'Feature Topic' and remain at the top of the forum if there is sufficient interest -- if not, we'll let it fade into the archives.

Chief, I would like to see another option. They have now developed a way to read your black, gray and fresh water tanks from the outside of the tanks. It measures correctly every time and reads just like the current ones. You never get false warnings.

We ordered our 33TKE with the old style entertainment center that pulls out and pivots because we didn't like the TV hanging on the wall like a picture. With the LCD TVs, you can't see the picture if you are too far off to the side. I think this type cabinet should at least be an option. Also the RT and Classic should have the ball bearing drawer glides.

Seconding, Squirrel's suggestion, I really miss the SeeLevel II tank sensors I had on my Lazy Daze! I see Nuwa is offering them now as an option- a really superior way to get accurate tank level readings. They also can read the propane level (at least on a Class A/C).
I'd also suggest a built-in Progressive Dynamics power regulator.
Finally, a Workshop or Rockin' ought to be included on every model.

Rope lighting in the cabinets under the TV.
12v outlets in the LR.
Shelving in the bath closet.
Solar panel prewiring.

Here's my short list:
*Electric control valves for grey and black tanks as an option.
*Maple colored interior option
*Outside side lights at mid ship (LEDs) that flash with the turn signals (safety)
*Clear coat (or equivalent) to protect front, end, roof and front garage area, so they don't die/oxidize after a year of UV. Competition is offering on their 2 upper model lines
*Oil resistant flooring for garage and basement area
*Frameless side windows by HEHR
*Vacuum outlet in the basement
*4 step entry
Enough for now....will update I'm sure!
I know this cost money and your inventory cost money and space, but you have to keep up with the competition! Rockin'

Oh yeah. An AC outlet on the outside of the drivers side. The inside outlet in the util section is nice. But leaving something plugged into it means leaving your basement open and unlocked for the cord to pass through.

Bruce,
Some models already have AC outlets on both sides. Ours has one in the utility center (roadside) and one on the the outside wall on the curbside by the front door entrance. I like the later very much as I can just slide the 110V air compressor out and plug in without ever lifting or maneuvering the thing around. Nice!

I wonder why stainless hardware isn't used on the exterior. Compared to other standards/options, I wouldn't think it would add too much to the cost which could be passed on. That way you wouldn't have rusty screw heads distracting attention from an otherwise beautiful unit.

I'm seeing a lot of good ideas. some are do-able, especially as an option. There isn't really alot that we can't or won't do. All you have to do is ask when you place your order.
Electric dump valves, for example have been an option for about 6 years now. Many of your ideas here could be optioned in.
Thanks for your input and I'll keep an eye on this topic when I'm in "design mode" for 2010 models.
Bryan

Hi Bryan,
Thanks for looking at our ideas.
When I ordered my new L33RSE, I ordered a buncha options on my trailer, after much research, often on this forum. However, as a new and inexperienced fifth wheel owner, I missed a few opportunities for additions 'cause they were not offered as options. Like solar prewiring or an additional 12v plug in the LR. I spent more $ to install 'em later, and you missed the chance for some more profit.
Long way to suggest that you either offer more options or a separate list of additions that other owners have ordered and you have installed.
Bye.

Bruce,
I agree with you and hear your comments. We speced our unit out with Bryan personally. There are many options I had no idea were available, that he mentions in this thread, such as electric valves. There should be a list to refer to of possible options offered so that the customer could ask questions and have discussion.
However, in all fairness to Bryan, as a very green pea and newbie, we didn't have a clue, and if he was to come on too strong...hammering us and loading us up with a perceived "bill of goods", that may have been a turn off when it came to the totaling up the tally!

Let me first admit that I did not read thru this thread but I would like to have a light in the top of the electronics cabinet under the TV. I always have to use a flashlight which is unwieldy as I always need both hands.
There should be a list to refer to of possible options offered so that the customer could ask questions and have discussion.
Once in a while, even Tom comes up with a great idea.

I wish there were locks on the propane tank access doors. At least the road side one where the front jack switch is located. Also wish the rear jack switches were hidden.
