Excel Service Center appointment 8/31/15

I'm moving my 8/30/15 post here from the "Where Is Everyone?" section so more folks are likely to see it.
Am on my way to OR from NH and just arrived Smith Center. Am over-nighting at the "self-service" 4-M Campground (highway sign at White Rock Road turnoff from Hwy 36 says Sunset Park (but now under new owners Cade (a welder by day) & Ashley Maxwell, tel. 785-282-0433 or 785-282-1155). 16 sites, about 5 with 50 amp. There's just one other rig here today.
On 8/31 and 9/1 the service center will perform the following:
  • Check out the gray tank installation my son and I did in NH (thanks to great advice from Rockin' Tom), plus a tiny neck crack repair we did with Plasti-Mend.
  • Reinstall all the underbelly insulation
  • Install Mor/Ryde SRE 4000 suspension system I bought at Dyers for $375 plus amazingly cheap shipping of $9.00 for the 50+ lbs. (MOR/Ryde SRE/4000 Suspension System for 33" Wheelbase Tandem Axle Trailers - RV / Trailer Suspension Upgrades - RV / Trailer Steering & Suspensions - Towing & Automotive). The roads back East are pretty rough, esp. Indiana and Boston area.
  • Check out a troublesome kitchen slide. Takes great effort to close, esp. the first part where it rises, and it makes loud worrisome creaking noises. The slide's top fascia board sometimes scapes ceiling trim and actually fell off a few nights ago. I always let the slides out and in with rear landing jacks up to minimize frame flex.
  • Investigate water dripping from a screw hole on bottom portion of front cap metal trim following a heavy rain. The fiberglass cap/roof juncture looks well caulked.
I'll let everyone know how my experience went.
David

Same here David. I just chocked it up to the slide being so heavy. I'll be interested in what you find.

Our appt is November 7th, dining slide is "strange" and looks like side could be moving from floor but everything works good. We've already years ago had to replace the big slide floor.

Our plans were to set out on our Full-Time adventure today at 6:00 a.m. But I think God just laughs at man's plans. Everything set to pull out from the farm, but kitchen slide would not come in--horrible noise. Have been calling and leaving messages with Excel Service Center but still no response from them. Disappointed, but I suppose it could be worse.

Try e mail, got early in day reply. Remember they are finding their way. Lots of times in the past, calls returned late in day, but returned.

Have you inspected under the slide?

Yes, DH and another experienced with 5vrs have tried several things.
But we were soooooooo relieved to get a call from Curtis a few minutes ago.
As expected, he was a great help. Also told us they would work us in tomorrow if we can get the slide back in. Smith Center is at least 5 hours away, but we'd feel better having them look it over. Kudos to Excel Service Center!!!!

Apparently they did see anything unusual? Are both sides of the slide trying to come in?
