Excel Tour's next tour is Boston/New York, starting Sept 15, 2010 and ending Oct. 5. The following year, 2011 we will be touring Washington and Oregon about the same time and about a 3 week tour.

We have changed one thing this year, we are going to do a lottery for space on the tour. You are welcome to call into the office, anytime, even now to put your name on a list About May 1, 2010 the price and the information on the trip will be finalized. At that time you may confirm your spot on the trip by making a deposit or relinquish the spot, no questions asked. At that time you will have the price and info on the trip and can tell us you want to go, or it simply will not work at this time. If you choose to go on the tour, you will put a deposit on the tour at that time. We hope some of you will be hearing about the trip early rather than hearing about it too late and it's sold out.

We encourage you to call in now so we will know the interest in these two trips. Call Peterson Industries Office telephone number is 800-368-3759. Kay Herrington, Peterson Industries Tour Director.

Actually, they've learned to time travel and are keeping it from the rest of us!!!

Kansas, can you give us a rough estimate of the cost? BTW: I'm an old cost guesser for the navy. I completely understand that when one gives an estimate, it's automatically wrong. Just looking for a ball park figure of how much to have set aside in case we "win" the lottery. Thanks!!! David

OK, second question. If you "win" one year's lottery for the tour, are you automatically "banded" from the following year's tour? Thanks!! David

If I were a gambling person, I would guess $150.00 a day. We are taking quite a few busses, to get us out of driving in NY and Boston, along with expensive events in New York. Again, this is an a very rough estimate and can go either way.

No, you will have to get on both lottery lists. At this time, attending the first tour does not keep you off the next. There will be a drawing both times.

The figures are in for subject trip. We will be in Boston Sept 16 thru 23. at Normandy Campgrounds in Foxboro, Ma. While there we will visit down town Boston & Revolutionary War Sites, as well as the Prudential Bldg., and the JFK Library/Museum, & Old Ironsides. Day trips out of Boston proper will include a day in Salem, Ma to study all things witchy. Plymouth for a look at recreated Plimouth Plantation (the 1st settlement), the Mayflower, Plymouth Rock and a boat jaunt out into the bay off the coast of Hyannis (glimpses of the Kennedy compound), and a trip to Lexington & Concord (to chase those Red Coats back into Boston!) We have 5 bus touring days so that you don't have to turn a wheel in the traffic.

On Sept 24 we all move to north of NYC to Newburgh KOA located in Platekill where we remain until the end of the tour on Oct 6. There are 11 nights of NY camping and many day trips from there going various places. We utilize buses for all 4 days that we are in the city. There is one day you can opt to take a commuter train into NYC for some free time. Our city trips include sightseeing tours of NBC Studio, a visit to the Today Show, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and, of course a Broadway Play and Dinner. We are going several places outside of the city, in truck caravans, traffic not a problem as we head to FDR's home Hyde Park, a tour and lunch at Cullinary Arts School, Tours at West Point and the Vanderbilt Mansion, a whole relaxing day at a Resort Hotel and lunch in the Catskill Mts. (Place called Mohonk, you'll love it.) There is even a boat trip on the Hudson River.

We have even planned 3 days of free time (but knowing you Excellers, you'll all be going to Wal-mart on those days). The trip is 21 days long
(21 nights of camping, 16 planned and paid for events, 9 days of bus traveling and over 9 major meals included in the price of the trip.) The price $3500 per unit, for a 2 person unit.

Those interested phone the office in Smith Center and put your name on the list. 25 names from the list will be drawn on May 15. If your name is drawn you will receive a phone call and be asked to place a down payment of $1000 (check to be mailed to the office) in 24 hours. If you decline, at that time another name will be drawn in your place. The balance of $2500 will be due July 1, 2010. Don't feel you don't have a chance of being drawn, at this time there are only 30 names on the list. Again, we urge you to call the office and get your name on the list. The telephone # 800-368-3759. Happy Travels!
