I don't like this new site because it takes so darn long for each page to load. The top part loads quickly, but then it can sit from 5 to 15 seconds or more for the rest of the page to load, even with a fast connection. Because of this, I rarely come here anymore...I simply don't have the patience to sit and wait.

My hard drive went out of my lap top so until I get it replace I bought one of these little minis. I have Vista and IE 8 in my laptop and this has XP and IE7 and is so much faster down loading these pages here with all the adds. Also I am using AT&T for my air card and I am hearing that Sprint is the fastest on the market right now. I guess they are roaming off of Verizon’s towers. Anybody using Sprint? I’d like to hear how satisfied you are and if I should be considering changing over.

I had a Sprint air card for a while. Didn't need it any longer. Went back to my Hughes dish. Now I'm using a Verizon MiFi router/modem. Verizon Mifi draws a stronger signal than their aircard, for not much more money. Cheaper than a separate USB router too.

In my limited view, Sprint and Verizon performed the same. It just depends on your location. The big difference is customer service. Sprint's service is very poor in my experience, and confirmed in surveys by Consumer Reports. Verizon offers excellent customer service, also confirmed by CR.

I'd be surprised if Verizon would let Sprint use their towers, since they complete for the same users. But all this stuff keeps changing.

I was wondering how the progress was going on the program for slower connections? When I use my phone and access the Forum I use the site map for a portal and it downloads immediately I than go to which site I want and then click full version. That works good with my phone. Are these unplanned crashes like this afternoons going to be a normal thing here on IRV2 after last weeks shut down?

Woody... I don't expect many more interruptions of service in the future...but there will probably be a few other very short outages at some point. The technical group will always try to take care of these in the wee hours of the night - but that is not always possible.

I am not sure of the status of slow connection improvements. I will make a mental note to check on this.
