raywen,

If you can stay away from water system leaks, water intrusion from rain and washing and with proper maintenance, the coach could last indefinitely. However, according to data I have read, the average serious RVer will trade coaches every ten (10) years. With many trading even sooner. A lot of that is based on......if you find something you like better and you can afford it. Even though the Excel has very high resale value, it will be costly to trade.

As for your get it now or wait till later question. If you have the time to use it, why wait. Think of how much fun you could be having in the meantime.

we bought ours before fulltiming. Used the time to learn the rig, and outfit it for our use. This is a good time of year to deal if you want something you like off a lot. (if you are ordering something special, you can save 28-30% off MSRP any day of the year.

There is a rig in the campgound we are staying in now (Excel) that the owner has been using for full time for 12 years. I hope my rig looks as good as his in 12 years!

By the way, Welcome to the forum!

Thanks, I guess we can join the Excel Family. Buying one in Iowa, no dealers in Wi. Kinda scary on that part. Gotta get the Tv and pick it up in Oct.

Mukwonago. We went to look at this one to see the floor plan because we were in the area. We just fell for it. A dealer in Debuque wouldn't be that far if needed, though not buying it from him may not get me as much help. Pick it up 2nd weekend in Oct. Can't wait.

The dealer in Dubuque is Couler RV. Family run and very hospitable. It would surprise me if they treated you any different than the do me. You might think of making a trip over there and introducing yourself instead of waiting till you have a warranty issue. Tell Doug Larry, with the 33RSO from Elgin, Il, had very high regards for there dealership.

raywen,
Ditto Highgturn's comments -- IMO, the primary factor in the "Expect to last how long? equation is owner preventive maintenance. Unless your pockets are deep, be prepared to perform most of the routine maintenance yourself. Any RV trailer that is pulled down the highway at 60 mph plus speeds, over often rough road conditions, will have maintenance issues.
