I am thinking about the family reunion already and have a question.
I found a 20"X48" cargo carrier at a garage sale that was in good condition and wonder if any one uses one to carry a generator. I have just the 2000 Honda that I use.
Would like the good and the bad of using the carrier.

Can't wait for Spring!!!!!

Well, since no body replied to my post and now the reunion is canceled, forget it.

The Excel Family Reunion has been delayed for 1 year until May 29 to Jun 2 of 2113 due to economic reasons per Bryan T yesterday email.

I was asking if anyone uses a cargo carrier to haul a small generator and any good or bad comments they may have about doing that.

And also, yes I know about the reunion being canceled so that is why I said forget about it.
If anyone wants to give me information about the question on the cargo carrier that would be fine.

Have you ever followed a vehicle down the road with one of the cargo carriers on the back with a load. The thing is not very stable and is subject to a lot of stress. Personally, I would not hang a "basket" on the back of a trailer and put any thing of value in it. That is my opinion and you can do as you wish.

One note is that there are a lot of things for sale that really are not a good idea. Rather than hanging the carrier on the back, the Honda is pretty small, just set it inside the tailgate of the truck and lock it down. You can get a metal locking handle that fits over the plastic one to help slow down the potential thief.

Jim,

TXiceman is right about the bounce. I'm sure you have seen bicycles bouncing on the back end of a camper. I have one and used it to haul a 12 gal boat tank along with three 5 gal. gas cans for my Honda generator. They rode mostly steady when full, but when they were empty, I heard a couple of truck drivers talking about me and what would happen if the gas containers fell off from all the bouncing.

Since you have a flat bed truck, you may need to build a box on your truck that is lockable to store the Honda.
