May not be proper to post here but I thought I would anyway just as a reminder that these things do happen. Attached is a posting on the Good Sam's Club Rv forum by friends of ours in our camping club, Saturday night or early Sunday morning their camper went up in flames and Tom tells me the only thing he had on was his refrigerator.

He doesn't know yet what happened but said the fire looked like it started on the refrigerator side, it was a Dometic brand unit, and there has been recall information on various sites and forums about the possibility of certain units catching on fire.

Tom will not say this is what happened until he gets information back from his insurance company which is bringing out an engineer to look over the unit. As the pictures show its a total loss. Just some info to make everyone aware of this type situation.

Got woke up this am by the local police. Our 05 Re3 at our private campground burned this morning. Total loss, shed and gazebo damaged. Nobody hurt. If it was because of a defect I'll post it. Only had the fridge on.

I highly recommend "Mac the Fire Guy" class to anyone who attends an Escapade or Life on Wheels seminar.

He is a down to earth guy, who can really teach you a lot about what you need to know if your rig ever catches on fire.
